We purchased a full set of kitchen cabinets from ITI (previously Woodcore Cabinetry) for our kitchen remodel on the recommendation of a friend who loved the cabinets she had purchased from them several years earlier. What we (and she) did not know is that ITI had significantly downgraded their quality, switching from custom cabinetry to mediocre (at best) standard cabinetry. Their big selling point is that they manufacture their cabinets in an eco-friendly manner, without the use of toxic glues, finishes or formaldehyde, but this is not enough to offset the poor quality of their cabinets. We've had the cabinets in place for about a year-and-a-half now. We had problems with them from the beginning--drawers drooping, hardware not working properly--and they attempted to fix the problems a few times before they completely stopped responding. Now, we have drawers that have completely stopped working due to inadequate hardware, and the finish on the doors is so thin and minimal that we have water damage in many places, even though we wipe down the doors immediately if we accidentally splash water. In fact, the finish is so poorly done that we can't even clean the doors in the manner you normally would in a kitchen because of the risk of them falling apart! When we were doing the remodel, we met the owner of a high-end cabinetry store when we were looking for a countertop for the same kitchen. When the owner heard where we were purchasing our cabinets, he told us about the changes in ITI and warned us that we would be replacing the cabinets within 3 years...too bad he was wrong...it's only been a year-and-a-half. Don't be disarmed by the staff at ITI's charming manner and convincing sales pitch; the quality of their products just doesn't measure up. Also, be aware that ITI no longer sells directly to consumers. Their cabinets are now sold exclusively through kitchen remodeling stores.
