Kitchen and Bath Remodeling
Called BIHI for an estimate for a largescale kitchen remodel (50k plus). Owner returned call right away. NIce enough on phone. Stated that he does not give an estimate unless we gave him a retainer. If you do not like the plan or the estimate he produces and you choose not to go with him, he keeps the retainer fee for his time and effort. Really? He says that too many people are just "shopping around for estimates." Really? That is the cost of doing business. I would NEVER use this business.

"We run a professional business offering professional services. We strive to keep our attention to serious clients! Therefor it is our policy that after a initial consultation and agreed budget we require a non-refundable retainer be paid to start the design and contract phase. This retainer is to cover the cost invested in further consultations and design. The point of a design is to see it and make changes before construction begins. That is why we are a design / build company. When a final design and contract are agreed upon the retainer is deducted from the job cost. We prefer to be upfront about charges and what it takes to be devoted to "Taking your project in the right direction"! If you have question please visit our website or call our office."
