Besides providing excellent lawn care in the spring  summer  fall, Joe does clean, efficient snow plowing. Being seniors, this is extremely important for our safety. Joe is courteous and knowlegeable. We are more than satisfied with his services and who he is - the pride he takes in his services. Thank you Joe! The owner Joe Monteferrante came on time for the initial consultation.I told him what we wanted and my budget for the job to be done. He then explained in detail what was to be accomplished.  Two days later, he came with the landscape proposal. When my wife and I accepted it, I gave a $1000.000 down payment with 1/3 to be given when the job was started and the balance at the end of the job. Joe gave me a tentative starting date and about 10 days later, (within the time estimate), his men came to begin the work. The work was done in 6 days and it was magnificent.  Each day his workers came around 8:30 am and left well after 5 pm (except for the last day when the job was completed. They came on a Saturday to complete the job. 
      A Patio of Techo-Bloc Pavers with a Stone retaining wall was constructed. The wall was done to keep out water and soil which had always run onto the old patio previously. A section of lawn was added to the side of the patio to help control the runoff and was pitched to allow rain water to drain away from the new patio.   Under the deck stairs plastic sheeting and gravel was put down to complete the job.
So far, all our relatives, friends who saw this completed patio really raved about its look and we hope to now use this patio often. In the 30 years we lived in this House, we have never used the "old" patio (since it was covered with soil runoff.
I would recommend this Company to anyone who needed similar work done.

The man showed up on time and was very nice. He said he"d be back the next day to measure and provide a witten estimate, but I never heard from him again. After 2 weeks I went with another company and no one ever called me to follow up.

To begin with, Joe was quick to come and give the estimate and was easy to reach before we hired them. Once we told him the job was theirs, I just did not know when they would show up to start. They showed up randomly one day to begin work, left their truck and took 3 weeks before they did any more work on the job. I left messages trying to see when exactly they would resume work, he never called back but showed up at my house randomly to tell me when they'd return ( they did not return on that day). They just randomly came back and finished the job. The regrading was done well and it took care of a water drainage problem that we had - so that was the one good thing we got out of the whole job. They were supposed to dig out all stump grindings from trees that we had cut previously- which they did some but not nearly all- and we actually still have some roots sticking out of the ground from when they leveled the ground. The dirt that was brought in was supposed to be "clean soil" as per the proposal, and it was anything but that. It was dumped on the yard and all you can see are roots & rocks everywhere in the mound of dirt. It turns out that from that soil that was brought in- we now have weeds that we never had before (crabgrass and other weeds). Once all the prep work was done, they seeded the whole yard and spread hay over it. They definitely skimped on the hay but that was not the worst of it. I was eager to see the grass sprout, diligently watered the yard as needed, only to have all the grass grow in and have 90% of the yard covered in crabgrass and other weeds (from the cheap dirt they brought in or the seed they spread)! I expected to have a beautiful yard and it is nothing but a yard full of weeds. I am completely unsatisfied with the outcome. They also drove their truck through the front of our yard to gain access to the back many times and that ended up damaging the grass on the side. They poured their cheap dirt in the front to fill in a gap so their tires would go in easily over the curb- they left it jsut as dirt, not even re-seeding that section. Now I have a crazy amount of weeds there that I never had before ( all from their cheap dirt!). What also upset me was at the end when payment was due I had asked my parents to pay for me since I had previous plans (not knowing what day they would finish) and my parents told me he knocked very loudly repeatedly saying 'hurry up and give me the money!' so he could make it to the bank in time- when my parents just wanted to count the money to be sure the amount was correct since it is alot of money to hand over to someone. I realize i was not present at the time but I know my parents would have no reason to lie to me about that. There is no reason to be rude to people like that. So all in all it was not a good experience. My neighbor had told me some other neighbor had used them for the same reason and I just walked around to see who's house it was and I could tell immediately tell which house it was since I saw a ton of crabgrass sticking out of the new grass, and sure enough, it was their work since I saw their sign on the yard around the bend. I would never recommend them to anyone, nor would I ever use them again. I get angry at them every time I look at my backyard. They were very poor communicators, and their work is sloppy. They did a good job only with the regrading. I can't believe he expected me to hire them to do my walkway and driveway!
