The mowing was done as contracted. It was the weeds and the attitude that were unacceptable. Next year, I will go with another landscaper.
My overall experience was very poor. Lawn care was minimal, mowed over border plants and killed floral vines at my mailbox with a weedwhacker. Performed an unscheduled fall clean up two days before Sandy hit and left all of the leaf debris in the street blocking half the road and never came back to clean it up; causing my family and neighbors who were kind enough to bag all the refuse.
Hurricane Sandy damaged my fence and after the wonderful job they had done with the pavers on the front walk, I felt confident that I would receive the same quality service with this project as well. Unfortunately the fence project was completely substandard. I was asked to make an upfront payment for the purpose of buying supplies, which I did. Supplies were delivered and covered with a tarp so I never really saw the panels. When project was underway, I asked why the panels were so flimsy and was told that this was what I'd asked for. I never asked for garbage! Once the project was completed, I instructed the crew to place the remaining supplies behind the gate, which they did. Upon close inspection of the job, there were holes in the slates, cracks where the nails were placed, just a lousy job overall. My concerns were dismissed by the service provider, who then called me back the very next day and demanded that I return any surplus supplies to him immediately and came to my property in a nasty and intimidating manner to insure that I complied with his demand. As a single, 60+ woman with a disability and no male figure in my household I really feel as though I was taken advantage of.
Subsequently, that winter while plowing snow from my driveway, instead of plowing it off to the side into the lawn, the snow was plowed into the fence cracking one of the panels. I went the office and was told that the owner was not there, when I clearly heard him talking to his receptionist from his rear office, instructing her to tell me he was'nt there and he would stop by at a later time to check the damage. I called him a couple of days later to ask when he would be coming to the property, he claimed that he had come by already but the gate was locked so he couldn't get in to see what I was complaining about. I explained to that a have a front door bell, he didn't respond.
There was always an excuse for why things were being handled so poorly. I am disabled and am compelled to hire the help needed on my property, but I am very disappointed with the service by Mr. Landscape, Inc.
I would recommend Steve to anyone based on his professionalism from his staff and himself. You can see images of his work at the Rockland Community College home show coming up Feb 7,8 and 9th. It is a great way to ask questions and see ideas, that is what I did.
Thanks again Steve,
Tom
