We needed our cottage renter's hot water heater replaced and we ordered one through Home Depot. they picked the contractor to come out. The install was fine at the time, until 7 months later when the brand new heater broke. We had our own contractor come out to look and noted that it was installed on the wrong type of circuit so the heating element fried. Cost us another $275 for the repair and was not covered by the warranty since it was installation error.

"In fairness the customer did not contact us or the store who sold her the unit with an issue, we were not informed of any issue till a repair was already made. Given the opportunity we would have gladly gone out to assess the situation and make any and all repairs, as we would with any customer. This customer was reimbursed for her expenses. As with any installation it is recommended to buy the same product as what is currently in place. We stand behind all of our installations and given the chance would have taken care of this issue immediately."

They didn't charge me a fee to come here. It's a 30 minutes drive. They were very responsive and called me right back. They looked and found the problem. They fixed it. I haven't had a problem since. Before, I was having a problem every year. I thought that I had a problem with my stove and they scheduled to come out. I called them back and said that it was fixed, but they still came out and checked it. I have a water heater that I'm going to need replaced soon. They said that they could do it, but it would cost more because they are a small company. They said that I could get one from Home Depot and they would still be the ones to install it. Their price was way lower than anyone I had worked with in the past.
