AVOID AT ALL COST!! I hired Sid for drawings and permit for my remodel in Scarsdale NY. It was a horrible experience and made the whole experience more stressful than it needed to be. First thing- his first draft was completely wrong. As an architect Iâ m shocked that he would get it wrong. I had to correct him and I have no experience in blueprints. Additionally, my contractor said that his drawing was lacking electrical and other important details. When the county inspector did initial inspection they said it was not secure enough and that he needed to needed to be updated. Sid was no where to be found. Texts, email, and phone calls were unanswered. I thought something bad might have happened to him but turns out he was just ignoring it. He only responded when the inspector emailed him directly. Iâ m shocked by the unprofessionalism. He also was three time the price. I shouldâ ve spent more time finding a better architect. I'm writing this review on yelp, Facebook, and google bc I don't want anybody else to make the same problem that I did.

Si Does a really good job. He is fast and responsive and knows most of the local people in addition to rules etc.

I did not have a good experience with Sid. I retained him in Aug 2000 on a project to combine adjacent apartments. We had not yet closed the apartments at the time and it took till March 2021 to finalize the sale. All the time, I kept Sid in the loop on the status of the transaction. Since March 2021, I tried desperately to get in touch with him to get the project started but did not hear back from him till Oct 2021. He gave me an excuse that since he was swamped with other big projects and could no longer work on mine. He refunded the retainer in full. Still leaves me with no architect for almost 7 months after we were ready to start work.

Sid is a consummate professional, I am really impressed with Sidâ s interactions with GCs, DOB and Expediters and off course myself (owner). He has a cool, calm, and collected approach during complex projects as I had to fire my previous architect and supersede them with Sid. He personifies trust, is super responsive and is extremely experienced.

PROTECT YOUSELF AGAINST BEING A VICTIM OF SID SCHLOMANN For Those Considering Hiring Sid Schlomann, I advise you not to do so. Read the dispute state below. I believe that Sid walked away from a contract with me because he could not figure out the correct requirements for a sprinkler system and because I did not want to use his friend who is a general contractor on my business project. This resulted in me losing $3,000 retainer that I initially paid to Sid, I lost the space from the only landlord that was willing rent to me, and after I lost a small claims case that I filed against him, the judge ordered me to pay him an additional $3,155. More than $6,000 paid to Sid and I was not able to establish my business because I lost the only space that was available to me. The Code Enforcement Director rejected the floor plans that Sid produced for me because Sid could not figure out the correct sprinkler requirement. After that, I tried to contact Sid for 30 days via phone calls and emails, but Sid never responded so I had to sue him. During the Time that it took for me to give Sid and opportunity to respond and to find and hire a new architect after Sid did not respond, I lost the space for the business because the landlord, at the time had issued a lease for the space to another person. All of this prevented me from being able to start my business. 1) I needed the floor plan to submit to the town for approval of the project, which is a standard practice. 2) I needed the floor plan to submit to contractor to get quotes for the estimated cost of the project and base on the quotes, determine whether the cost of the project fit my budget. 3) I needed the floor plan to obtain quotes from contractors and to use the quotes in negotiating a lease with the landlord to see if I could get the landlord to pay for at least part of the cost for retrofitting a sprinkler system in the space that I was considering for the business. 4) I needed the floor plan to obtain quotes for the estimated cost of the project and to submit the quotes as part of financing documents requested by the bank for a business loan.

Sid was quick to get in touch with me about the job. After explaining what we needed, he gave me a quote over the phone. He came to see the job and take measurements soon after. Until this point, he was fast, professional and easy to work with. He sent me a draft plan after which I asked for some changes, which he said he would accommodate initially. The next day he emailed accusing me of misrepresenting the job and saying I was requesting changes and other things he could not accommodate. He also complained about the price he initially quoted. And then dropped us as clients. I find this highly unprofessional. He gave us a quote without actually seeing the job which was his mistake and then later decided he undervalued his services. Instead of saying that, he just dropped us. I would not recommend him.

Sid worked with us on designing an addition, designing an open floor plan for the living space, updating our kitchens and bathrooms, and reconfiguring the bedrooms. He is very easy to work with and helped us achieve the design we were looking for. We had to file a variance and his knowledge on local code was critical to getting it approved. He also gave good recommendations for contractors to execute on plans. I'd highly recommend his work.

Extremely helpful and creative in designing a great indoor / outdoor living space for my family as well as assisting in the permit process with the local building department. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Sid was fantastic to work with. We had a 1 bath house with teenagers so we had to add another bathroom. We were not sure if it was going to be possible based on the limited square footage of our home. Sid assessed the space and assured us that we had plenty of room for a decent size bathroom. He had great ideas but also took into consideration our vision. His design and vision were so much for than I could have imagined. He was also available to clarify design plans with contractor and make adjustments when needed. We love our master bath.

Sid is very professional and courteous. He went over our ideas and was flexible in updating bases on the needs of our family and building's management. Our project was small but got quite delayed because the incredible amount of time my management company and board took to approve the project. He has also been responsive to my follow up calls and emails after the work got started. Highly recommended!

Sid was absolutely great. He was quick to respond, did the work quickly, and got the job done. I was so impressed and so grateful that he was able to expeditiously complete the job amazingly fast.

Sid is a very smart guy, a true professional, creative, and a pleasure to deal with. In addition to the plans, he really really helped me with the permitting process. And I very much appreciate that although my project wasn't very big in the grand scheme of things, Sid still worked with urgency and was very responsive regardless. Would certainly recommend and hope to work with him on a larger project in the future!

I am happy to have Home Advisor to find contractors. At first I received few offers but Home advisor called me to make sure I had more offers. The architect I hired was professional prompt and reasonably priced. This was a small job. I was happy to have someone to work with. It is hard to find professionals to take smaller jobs. Yet we need them to file building permits.

He is a professional all the way. Gets the project done in a timely manner and is extremely pleasant to work with.
