S & W Painting

S&W Painting (and their "division" called "Simply Baths") was contracted to demolish and renovate two bathrooms. They were timely and they were clean, and they did complete the work within the time frame they'd promised. However, within a year, we had another leak under one of the bathrooms and we had to hire another contractor to come demolish the floor in the shower of our master bathroom to fix what was leaking. As it turned out S&W had installed the shower pan completely wrong (we have photos to support this) and the resulting leaks caused us to have to spend close to $3,000 to fix the bathroom along with another repair in our living room where the water was leaking on to the ceiling and walls. S&W did repair the damage to the living room, but reluctantly. Another year or so has now gone by and we now have yet another leak under the other bathroom and are looking at having to open up the ceiling in our living room yet again in order to try & determine where the leak is coming from. The plumbers that we have had take a look at it believe that it is coming from under a bathtub, which could wind up being an extraordinarily expensive repair - one that we can ill afford. Keep in mind that the tub was a NEW INSTALLATION less than 4 years ago. If S&W / Simply Baths had done the work right in the first place, we would not be staring down yet more costly repairs. We cannot recommend them at all and anyone considering using them for any type of restoration that involves plumbing should think again and go elsewhere.

He came out right away. He was able to understand the extent of the work to be done. He was able to provide 6 options based on what needed to be done. He communicated well. It gave me confidence going forward with this company. I really appreciated all the communications and the clear written proposals.

The work was professionally done and quickly performed. I was especially impressed with the third coat to cover my "sampling" which was just done without any discussion. The plastering was good, if not perfect; I can still see where the repair was. But generally this was a good experience and I would use them again. On the slight negative, furniture was not moved back in place, the reason given was that the paint was still wet. I should have insisted, since the furniture was not going to touch the wall anyway. I am sure if I called them they would have come back to move it, but I didn't want to wait, so did it myself, and scratched my floor up. Just judging the painting though, and the pleasant and professional painter, I give high marks, except perhaps on cost. There was not a lot of prep in this room, except that plaster work, I think it might have been done for less but, since they were available to start immediately, it was worth the cost.

The work went extremely well. They arrived in a timely fashion to make the estimate and the painter came to do the work as scheduled. He was very careful and considerate, and he even repaired a small section of tile that had fallen apart. He was responsive to suggestions and looked for places that needed improvement. The work took a little longer than expected, but he was good about staying until the work was complete.

Warren came to give me an estimate. I was told the estimate would be e-mailed to me. They called me right after they e-mailed me to inform me that the estimate was sent and see if I had questions. I called a few days later with questions and they called back right away. They started work on Monday morning and sent a crew of 3 men. They worked on both the interior and exterior on Monday, did interior work on Tuesday, and worked on both interior and exterior on Wednesday. They asked if they could stay late on Wednesday to finish the job. Each day they arrived right on time and ready to work. After they left on Wednesday I noticed a few areas that needed to be redone and called them that night. They sent a crew back to me on Thursday to fix those areas. Overall, we were happy with the job they did.

THEY WERE JUST VERY GOOD. THEY WERE VERY RESPONSIVE AND PROFESSIONAL. THEY CAME AND WERE PUNCTUAL. THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES. THEY WERE NEAT. THE PRICE WAS FINE. IT WAS ON THE HIGH SIDE, BUT IT WAS FINE.
