Jimmy's Sales & Service

Visiting family in Geneseo, and my car battery died. Based on Angie's List, I had planned to call Jimmy's, but then decided to use my AAA service. Lo and behold, they dispatched Jerry from Jimmy's. He couldn't have been any more prompt, polite, pleasant, professional, or great to deal with. Battery testing and replacement was done in about 20 minutes, and Jerry kept me informed every step of the way.

The door latch was completely unmovable, a problem that apparently is not uncommon on old Hondas. (I confirmed that with an internet search.) They had to tear the door apart from the inside, completely remove it, and replace it with another door from a junked car. This required calling a dozen junk yards, as the car is so old. They offered (without pressure) to repaint it for a color match, but I didn't choose to, as the expense was not worth it. Throughout, I was kept appropriately informed. Considering the magnitude of the work, they took care of the problem rapidly (3 working days around a weekend). I was pleased to discover that they reused all the interior parts - from inside the car, you can hardly see any change.
The only awkward aspect of Jimmy's is that they close at 5:00pm. This can make it a little difficult for a working person to retrieve a car when the work is done.
I don't know why the review form is requiring me to enter a and quot;Home Build Yearand quot;, but I'm entering the model year of the car for that.

I called to receive a quote for work and never received a return call. While they may be a much better company when you work with them, I expect a company to take the time to get me a quote. If they had even returned my call I would have given them a much better rating, but if you don't get back with a client, that's an "F" in my book.

The whole process went very very well. They have AAA approved all-night towing and all day AAA approved service (I think 5 days a week or 6 days a week.) They are very reassuring and very thorough. If they hadn't seen the brake fluid leaking, we could have had a bad accident when the brakes went out -- because the brakes would have gone out for sure. They give the customer a complete printed list of all the procedures they do, everything replaced, tested the battery and alternator in my friend's 1996 car. VERY THOROUGH AND VERY NICE. If I lived out there in western NY, I would definitely have Jimmy's number in my phone book and in my cell phone.
