The company was supposed to finish the work in 2015. But they did not. The company began to put in a foundation, but they never finished. They requested more money. After requesting more money, they walked off the job, they took all the materials I had paid for, and they took off with my money. They owe me over $30,000. They are scam artists.

Review: Ken Contracting - the heating system, facets of design, and important excavation that proves extremely effective.
In looking at most construction in the past few years, I was quite disappointed. But when Ken Quackenbush, the current owner of K Contracting and someone who had helped me turn an almost inhabitable house into a very beautiful one, I knew he was the best all around builder I could have found.
Ken uses a consistent crew who knows what they?re doing and who essentially not only work together but design together, simply by virtue of their love of ideas, with Ken at the helm. Our previous project was almost over but I wanted more. I wanted excavation around the house to defer the water and avoid moisture, and I also wanted a flexible heating system which was economical and which could be singly adjusted in each unit without opening walls already constructed. This heating system was a perfect fit. It didn?t have ugly wires or machinery. And it was was not obstructive and it fit in beautifully with the lay of the land, all six acres of it.
The older heating system hadn?t appealed to me at all. I wanted something rustic but also something beautiful and NOT industrial. Since my house didn?t have a basement, I liked the aura of a low porch almost near ground level, making the house and ground as one which made it seem an extraordinary elemental gem of nature. Furthermore, the economical "William Morris" wood stove (with a Raphaelite design), made my living room a cozy haven. Besides, adding a few propane stoves in each corner, I appreciated the lovely atmosphere even more because it made the house seem pure and magical.
It was then I knew I wanted the simplicity of the units. They were pretty, non-obtrusive, and very economical, especially since each unit has its own control. If it was warm, I could simply set the unit to zero. If it got hot, all I had to do was turn it to a lower number. If it was cold, I could set it up to 8 or 9. it was easy to use, and made my house comfortable and pristine. I didn?t want to watch a boiler, wires, and machinery; they seemed only to take up ugly space.
Thankfully, Ken suggested I try forced air, and suddenly, what could have been a constant annoyance was no longer a part of my life. I now expect that this house will surely become a haven for guests, and family this coming season, which I'm eager to enjoy.
Another suggestion from Ken was trying excavation. Having once been in a painful flood because of a mechanical failure, it occurred to me that if there was a lot of rain, water could sully my house. But that was not to be. Ken and his crew helped to design beautiful french drains that assured the water was diverted from the house, and would stay that way.. The drains were deep and sturdy and diverted the water away from the house and toward the pond extremely effectively. It will also certainly lower my anxiety, which is also a big plus..
In November, I ran into Ken again and he asked Ken asked if there was anything I?d still want to take care of, and of course, quite luckily, he said yes. He suggested that some beautiful stones and flowers to the right of the door would make a lovely sort of garden. Since others approved it, Ken immediately not only assigned some men from his crew to take care of it, but he even refused to alter the bid, saying that "it was really nothing much."
To summarize, Ken is a wonderful builder with an artist?s eye . This past fall, when my friends were visiting, Ken happened to be nearby. He was always suggesting new, innovative ideas. In fact, my friends and I think his judgement is infallible. I would recommend without any reservations whatsoever.

He was excellent. The best experience we could have had. He was very clean. I believed he went above and beyond, very prompt with great ideas which really changed things. a pleasure to work with Very easy person to be around and talk to. He communicated well, he told us why he did things, he didnt cut corner. his prices were very reasonable. He was like an artist really, you could tell he loves his work. He had these ideas and he would go with them.
