A&D Quality Remodeling came for an in-home quote on 1100sqft hardwood install. Dijana called me shortly after placing a request on home advisors and was willing to meet me that afternoon. He showed up and was punctual. Now Dijana, who apparently is the owner, did disclose to me that his company was very new. Which is ok, as long as they are knowledgeable about the service their providing... in my opinion, A&D Quality Remodeling is not. Buyer please beware.. 1) They came to the worksite in a cherry red Mercedes-Benz. Now, this is just an opinion, but don't do that... 2) Although not visibly intoxicated, there was the strong smell recent happy hour indulgence. 3) They went right to work.. Measuring the sqft with a tape measure and never bothering to measure the moisture content of the subfloor.. That's because they didn't have a meter to do such a job nor the knowledge to understand you can't put hard wood down on a wet subfloor-which mine was. In fact, there was no mention to acclamation of hardwoods to the house, no mention of the relative humidity being above industry standards. They said they can install the very next week. 4) Thier quote was well above 3 other companies with 20+ years experience. In all, I appreciated their promptness and hunger to work. But quality of workmanship will drive your business and I feel this company will recommend and install products that their not qualified to do and not educate or advocate the consumer. All 3 companies I had to estimate hardwood installations, prior to A&D, measured the RH in the property, as well as the subfloor moisture level and advised NOT to install hardwoods until mositure was under control. Not A&D, they wanted to install the next week...Educate yourself consumers...
