"Yes, this is true that we need a customers credit card information on file before sending a technician; however, we do not charge anything to said card without the cardholders authorization. In your case we could not give an estimate for the work because you had an issue with your generator not working properly and we didn't know the scope of work involved to solve the problem. Neither the technicians nor the office staff received a request from you for an estimate at any point during our two hour appointment. We were working quickly and diligently to resolve the multitude of issues you were having. Pricing comes from the office, which you were aware of before our arrival as we went over our rates with you. Of the total amount billed ($577.52) $499.00 was labor, which you were aware of before the appointment. The material cost was a small percentage of the overall cost. Your generator installation was poorly done and as a result the interconnecting control wiring from your transfer switch to the generator failed. We replaced a section of defective wiring from the outdoor pull-box to the generator. When we re-tested the wring after this replacement we found the wiring going through the house (finished basement) to the pull-box was also defective. This is something we would give an estimate for but you insisted on having your own men perform the work. Upon troubleshooting the generator operation we found the starter motor control relay was defective which we replaced and tested. We could not leave you with a working unit because the control wiring through the house still had to be replaced. I'm sorry you feel you had such a negative experience with our firm but we were as transparent as possible throughout the process and you were present on-site and aware of everything we were doing during our short visit. On more than one occasion you commented on the quality workmanship of myself and my fellow technicians which is why this negative review comes as a surprise to us."
"Thank you for taking the time to write your review, we value your feedback. I'm sorry to hear you had a sub-par experience with our service and I hope we can make it up to you. We actually did have an emergency related to an automatic standby generator for one of our good clients in which one of the technicians involved in your job was a part of. We are sorry for the delay but existing clients who pay for the privilege of having our services available to them 24/7 during a power outage take priority over new clients. I'm sure you understand but regardless, we should have reached out and communicated the circumstances to you and for that I apologize. You communicated to us during the initial consultation that the EV, although on a 50 ampere circuit breaker, would only be drawing a maximum of 32 amperes. You made this clear because we initially suggested upgrading the existing 100 ampere service given the fact that you would be adding a 50 ampere load to an already existing full 100 ampere panel. A 32 ampere load running at full capacity over three hour period would constitute a continuous load. Your insistence, however, on using the larger wire created some logistical complications for us as we had to physically bring the wire to your job from another location while the men on-site had to standby and wait for the delivery. Furthermore you did not compensate us for the full difference in price between the smaller and larger wire but instead compensated what you thought was reasonable. Regardless, in the interest in getting the job done we went ahead and finished the work for you. You did not have the car charger on-site at the time so we couldn't be sure of the orientation of the receptacle. When you reached out to us weeks later looking for help you acknowledged that 1. we did nothing wrong and 2. you didn't realize the orientation of the charger would be in the manner that it was."
"We were contacted through Angie's list by [member name removed] several weeks ago regarding a complaint he has with our company. We have no record of ever working for him. We responded and asked him when we worked for him and specifically what the complaint was. He responded that it was about five years ago and he had a problem with the work that was done. As we have no record of ever working for him, and now that we have his address, no record of ever working at that address, we cannot comment further. Perhaps he has us confused with another electrical contractor?"
They seem to be ok. They are a little high priced but at least they show up! Our other person never showed up.
So far we haven't had a problem but so far our generator has been working fine. I have nothing to complain about.
"I am sorry for not being in the area, we will be able to take care of you come January. Generac's website says we service this area, but we do not yet. Sorry for the inconvenience"
"We understand his frustration, but we stand by our diagnosis of his problem and that the wiring through the crawl space was faulty and had to be replaced. We've been a member of the Great Neck community for many years and depend on repeat business from the community. We always give out customers' the benefit of the doubt when it comes to warranty issues. But his problem surfaced 28 months later and was unrelated to his original problem."
