Absolutely perfect! Anyone looking for a paint contractor need look no further. CertaPro is prompt, professional, clean, neat, fairly priced and does a great job! Our 130-year old three-story home had several poorly-applied coats of (lead) paint, resulting in extreme peeling and "alligatoring." It was awful looking. We honestly did not know if the cedar shakes could be salvaged. Skip arrived at the scheduled appointment time., thoroughly explained the entire process and we agreed to contract. The job started as agreed. The crew from CertraPro showed up promptly every morning and worked diligently to complete the job in a relatively short period of time. The crew as well as the job supervisor, Val, were extremely courteous and hard-working. There was no trace of any work done when they left - other than a sparkly new-looking home. We couldn't be happier with CertaPro's work.

We had just purchased this home in May and the previous owners had painted almost every room a hideous yellow color. Color selection was driving me insane so Skip sent Carmela Abella, a designer, to walk me through it. Her method and suggestions led me to choose the perfect combination of colors for the rooms. This, by the way, was a free service offered with any contract of more than $1000 and in my mind it was priceless. When the crew came to begin the job they arrived promptly and only took one small break every day. Any concerns I had during the process were met with a smile and rectified immediately. Jorge and his helper were professional and did an outstanding job. Would recommend highly.

All the men were courteous, friendly and professional. Arrived on time each day and worked diligently all day. Entire job took 5 days. Skip was very helpful about my color choices as I was having a hard time deciding which color to paint the house. When I went to the paint store for color selections the saleslady praised Skip highly. He also had the 4 selections I chose painted on the house in small sections to help me decide. My husband & I are very pleased with the final result.

Skip Marsh was very helpful in providing an estimate and setting dates for the work as we were coordinating with a larger remodel project. CertaPro Painters did an excellent job. From beginning to end, we felt we were in the best hands.
Skip came out to provide a quote and was extremely professional and friendly. Due to the large project, we were also able to meet with a color consultant who was great.
The painting crew was great and were able to restore the condition of the walls to their original glory with tons of spackle. They were very accommodating, even though we were extremely nit-picky.

Estimated job was completed in two days as promised. Received an email prior to painting with a picture of the painter coming to perform the job. Two painters showed up very pleasant to work with explained what they would be doing and worked quickly and were very neat no mess left behind. Accidentally over paid and was notified by Skip right away and mailed me a check for the amount over paid. I appreciate the honesty. Overall I am very happy and I would use CertaPro for future jobs.

I closed on a house and Skip, the owner, met me after the closing to give me an estimate. I wanted to get the work done before the movers were going to move me in to the house. Skip had his crew start two days later and they worked diligently to complete the job in three days. The final results were outstanding and I was very satisfied with the work. Given the fact that they have been screwed by contractors in the past with no shows ann overcharging her I wanted to make sure I found someone with good reviews. My mother and father could not be happier with their service. She said they were on time, they completed the job quickly. They were very neat and friendly. They went above and beyond by cleaning the chandelier, upper windows and hi hats that my parents, being a little older have not been able to do. Skip returned my mothers call within an hour to set up the estimate. he showed up when the he said he would, and the 2 painters (unfortunately she forgot thier names) did as well. She would recommend this company to anyone and plans to have them back as they need more work done soon.

Horrible. Spilled paint on the carpets, sanding doors AFTER they were painted and still drying so dust got into the paint. Painting 2 coats on a door and allowing only an hour btw coats, thus never actually getting a second coat. Getting paint on door hardware that was not covered. Skip is only the salesman he never actually shows up at the job or does anything other than throw the work ordered at a painting crew. Skip promises the world during the estimate but the crew never delivers what he promises. Threw them off the job after the second day. They should be called CertaAm the kids down the street would have done a better job. Had a qualified painting company finish the job and redo the mistakes made by CertaPro.

Skip came by for an estimate within a day of our phone call. He was punctual and prepared. He carefully inspected each room, made suggestions of what they would do, such as spackling the seams in crown molding and giving extra attention to an area of smoke stain around the fireplace. Since we are selling our home, he had suggestions about colors and advised us of painting we didn't need to do under the circumstances. He provided a written estimate and carefully detailed what was included. He also agreed to do some minor drywall repairs. He was able to schedule the job a week after we received the estimate. We met with another painting company shortly after, and that experience made us appreciate Skip's professionalism. Two men covered with paint came to the house with a raggedy spiral notebook and just answered "No problem" to everything I showed them. They did a cursory walk through and were finished in 15 minutes. Frankly I was relieved when they left. They phoned the following day with the estimate, which was $600 higher than Skip's. I called Skip back to schedule the job even before I received their estimate.
Carmela, the color consultant, came by and identified the colors that would work with our house and objective. The final result shows that she was spot on with her suggestions.
The crew arrived on time to begin the job and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Nancy and Jimmy were the consummate professionals as well as really nice people to know. They were very considerate of the fact that we were living in the house during the 4 1/2 day paint job, and cleaned up at the end of each day. The paint job is beautiful.
We have nothing but positive things to say about our whole experience with Skip and CertaPro of Port Jefferson and give them the highest recommendation.

I cannot say enough about how much we loved having Skip, Jim, Nancy (and their team) do our painting. From start to finish Skip, and everyone involved with this project were wonderful personally and professionally. They were honest, gave suggestions (that were sorely needed), were flexible, patient and tolerant (when they really didn't have to be), accommodated changes in requests, added a few services during the job, and did an outstanding paint job throughout the house. Every room is spectacular. Their attention to detail, and excellent repair and paint skills made the house look better than I could have expected. I can't say enough about them. In fact, I have already hired them again to do some other work in the house (shutters, stair balusters) and am considering some other projects for which I wouldn't hesitate to hire Skip's team again. A+++++
