I honestly have to say it was the most flawless experience I've ever had. They showed up on time, and even at times days earlier then expected. Quality work, great price with top of the line equipment. I shopped 5 different pool companies and they were the best bang for the buck. Even gave them referrals to others and they used them.

After the pool was installed I went to their retail location and purchased my spa. The quality of both are excellent and will be using them in the future.

It turned out that they didn't do a good job. They did the job but I wasn't satisfied. I wouldn't recommend them because they redid my pool and they put in a heater and now I'm losing water in the pool and I called the guy to come and fix it, and he's like, "Oh, you gotta call a different company to come and fix it, it may not be our problem. If it's our problem, we'll reimburse you the money." Meanwhile they just replaced the whole liner and the heater, and he doesn't even want to troubleshoot it to see what the problem is. I think that's totally dishonest. The price was reasonable. They're not responsive at all, it takes a week for them to call me back. The liner's coming off and I called them, it's been a week and nobody's showed up.

The pool is in but they never got it running because they were dealing with the electrical masonry and they are separate contractors. It's until the spring when they open up the pool and then I would see how it works. We started so late and they don't really do everything right away because it gets so cold in New York. So far it's been okay, it's not excellent at all. We waited too long to close the pool and then the pool froze so I don't feel like it's been closed properly. Their services include that they had to get the pool ready and close it for you, and actually we just waited so long to improvise it so that's actually a big concern of mine. If I'm going to turn it on, it's not going to work because all the pipes are frozen. They are very good to deal with, it's just that one person who had closed the pool did not do a good job. They are excellent, showed up on time and got the job done.

They did an ok job with the services provided but dealing with their office  was an exercise in frustration and abuse.  The woman who schedules service calls was rude at best and, most of the times, downright dismissive and condescending.  This is a service business, customers should not be made to feel they have to grovel to get  an appointment.  There are plenty of other pool service companies out there. We will not be using Arthur Edwards in the future.
Response from Arthur Edwards Pool & Spa Centre
"We would love to look into the issues for this customer. We only service pools that we built & we show no record of a customer with the last name [member name removed] in our data base."

They have unfailingly provided me with excellent, timely service since installing the pool 15 years ago.  The phone staff, parts dept. and repair personnel are polite, responsive and generally terrific.
The pool installation was particularly difficult because of high water table, and they mastered it.  And they have cared for our needs ever since, with competence and good humor.

They took a little longer than I would have liked to get here to do the job. All was installed and everything works well.

They did the complicated stuff well but completely missed the mark on the basics, particularly customer service.  I was recommended by friends that had used them years before that they were excellent, so I went with them without seeking another quote from another company.   Their price was about 20% higher than what I heard other people paying at the time, but I run a business which demands i work very long hours and had no time to "babysit" a contractor, so assumed if i paid more i would have less headaches, especially with a company i had heard only good things about.  Their excavation contractor was able to work around some very difficult soil conditions that we didnt know existed, so this was a positive, but he charged $10k for 2 extra days of work when he told me he only gets $1500 for digging the pool which takes one day and refused to justify/ break out the cost (he said "this is what I charge").  Then they installed the concrete wall forms wrong so the pool light was not located under the diving board, it was about 5 feet to the left which caused the wire conduit to not come up under the diving board so it would be a trip hazard.  When I asked them to move  the conduit, they said "have your electrician to do it".  They apparently were not happy I didnt use their electrician, but he was 30% higher than mine, regardless, they wanted ME to pay to fix THEIR mistake, which I ended up doing.  I should have demanded they rip the concrete walls out and start over with the light in the correct location, but with a 40' hole in my backyard and winter coming, it was a tough time to negotiate.  Then they put the diving board in crooked, when I asked them to fix it, they sent 2 guys who did not speak a word of English so I had to spend a half hour using sign language to tell them what was wrong.  The guys argued with me that it was "OK" as is, I disagreed, and had to tell them to either fix the mistake or leave the property and NEVER come back.  To spite me, they threw the concrete they dug out into my neighbor's yard rather than remove it.  The only time they sent someone who spoke English to the job was when they wanted to be paid, and the woman in the office who would take the phone calls was about the snottiest person i have ever spoken to.  When it came time to open the pool for the next season, they came to the house, tested the water, and said they would "drop off" the rquired chemicals to get the water right, they said the total cost would be somewhere around $800.00.  I asked a local pool maintenance company to come over, and for $80.00 (10% of Arthur Edwards), he put in the necessary chemicals and the water was perfect all season.  I guess I should have known something was wrong when the Salesman showed up to our house in a $100k Mercedes to give us the quote.  Being a business owner myself and having such a different experience than my friends had years before, i felt the neeed to speak to the owner direclty as I assumed he would want to know.  I was told that "Mr. Edwards doesnt speak to the customers, that is why he hired us", this was the final insult that i will never forget.  Assuming the economy hit them hard and they lost the good people who would properly manage their jobs, I only hope "Mr. Edwards" is made aware of these problems and gets back to the operation that built their reputation years ago.

It is a great store and they have everything anybody needs for a pool.  The people there are knowledgeable.  I would certainly recommend them for pool supplies.  What has impressed me the most about their store is that it is local and they have what I need.  Their prices are the same as everyone else.  They are not the big bargain nor are they outrageously priced.  They do give their customers a ten percent discount, if one had their pool installed by them, so that is a nice little perk.  They are very good in being responsive.  I have had some technical questions and they have helped me out with that.

The excavation went fine for the main pool. As described before, we were surprised by the jacuzzi issues but felt the adjusted design, although more expensive, would end up looking good. Since our pool was completed, we have had numerous problems with the workmanship. In the first year of use, we complained of water loss and were told "1-2 inches a week" is normal. Finally after numerous ignored calls, a technician came out to set up measurements and after more persistence on our part, AE admitted we had a leak in a return pipe and dug it up and repaired it. Our jacuzzi is slowly sinking into the ground which is buckling our pavers around the pool and has cracked the wall built by our mason. Year 1, jacuzzi separated from the masonry and sunk about 2-3 inches on one side leaving a gap. After numerous calls, they agreed to "patch" the gap with 3 inches of cement, which looks terrible. Jacuzzi is still sinking and AE keeps no-showing our appointments...they will blame our mason next...

I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW MUCH MY FAMILY HAS ENJOYED THE POOL, IT HAS BEEN A BLAST! THE PRICE WAS STEEP, BUT THE LAUGHTER MADE IT WORTH EVERY PENNY. THE POOL ITSELF IS NICE, AND IT DID NOT TAKE LONG TO COMPLETE THE INSTALLATION.

THE POOL HAS BEEN THE CENTER OF MY HOME THIS SUMMER. THE SURFACE OF THE STEPS WAS TREATED TO MAKE THEM AS SAFE AS POSSIBLE. THE LIGHTS IN THE POOL MAKE EVENING POOL PARTIES A BIG HIT.
