Central A/C Installation

Boiler was leaking. Problem was diagnosed. Fixed under warranty by installer who originally installed it.

James called back shortly after I called. James came out that same day and was able to find the problem, fix it, and viola - we had heat again!

He checked the 2 central A/C units, one needed 2 pounds more R22 and he added stop leak as well, although he warned it was not guaranteed to stop a leak. He was willing to answer all my questions and the answers he gave matched with my further research on the net. I had heard horror stories about how much the R22, which is only for A/C units made before 2010, would cost, so I was pleased that, while costly, it was not a break the bank cost per pound.

James looked into all warranties for our unit prior to ordering any parts to see if he could get anything covered under warranty!

Jim was very professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and punctual.  On a hot Saturday afternoon I called Jim and he was able to come to my house to look at my AC unit.  I was very impressed with how quickly he fit me into his schedule, especially given that it was a 90+ degree day on a Saturday.  Within 2 minutes (and I am NOT exaggerating) he found out what the issue was.  The unit was only 1.5 years old and was poorly installed by the HVAC installers when my house was built.  Apparently, the suction service valve was incorrectly installed and all the refrigerant leaked out.  Since the unit is still covered under warranty, Jim suggested that I get it fixed by the original installers because he said it would be around $500 to fix.  I asked if he could write up exactly what the issue was so I could show it to the original installers, and he complied.  I was impressed with his honesty as he easily could have said that he'd fix it and charge me the full amount.  Instead, he only asked for $20 for his time.  I was surprised that he only charged me that amount!  I would DEFINITELY recommend Jim as he had the knowledge and tools required in this competitive business!

James Day did a great job diagnosing our problem and fixed it quickly for a fair price. He was the only one who offered troubleshooting advise over the phone before scheduling a service call. This went a long way with us and was the reason we chose him for the job. He recognized that our coolant was leaking and used a stop leak before re-charging the system. It is now running perfectly. I told him we were thinking of replacing the entire system as it's old and possibly too small for the house. He very honestly told me that the system is fine and can operate for a few more years with minimal maintenance. We will definitely use James Day for all future A/C and Heating needs.

From there James went right to work.  I told him that I had not had my system checked for a few years.  James told me the



boiler was in good condition and running clean.  He also advised me of a future problem.  Told me there was no great



urgency to fix it.  Discussed a few options when the time did come and he gave me a few estimates on what it probably



would cost.  Everything sounded reasonable. James was very easy to talk to and understand the technical end of his



trade.  We then just chatted briefly about our kids and had a few laughs.

Cleaned and inspected our gas furnace. James Day is very professional, courteous, and helpful with heating questions. I would hire him again!

Scheduling was great, he came all the way from New York to New Jersey. They scheduled the appointment for two weeks out from my call because it was what we had asked for. It turned out very well. The technician was a nice guy. He made suggestions of things we needed to have done in the future without being pushy about it.

No major issues with furnace, but he did a couple of things to make sure it runs efficiently.

It went very well. The provider responded to our need without delay. We were going away for the holiday and he came promptly the morning of in ample time for us to continue with out plans. He was knowlegeable and professional.

The initial contact with James was via email. We arranged date and time for him to tune up our gas furnace. He confirmed the day before and showed up on time and performed the work. When finished, he showed me what he had done and explained that the unit was in good shape. James was very pleasant and professional. I would not hesitate to use him for HVAC needs.

I was not home.  But he did all he came to do.

He arrived as scheduled and he was very nice and professional. I took him down to the garage where my furnace is located and after we spoke a bit he got to work. Within a half hour or so, he was finished and though he had told me I might have to be prepared to replace a part or two, in the end he said it all looked good. I was shocked. Many service providers will tell you that they found all sorts of things wrong and in need of replacement. So it was so refreshing to find an HONEST man who told me all was fine. In other words, someone who did not try to put one over on me by telling me I needed something I didn't! Other contractors will sometimes try to tell you there is something you have to replace just to make some extra bucks. I am so grateful that this man was honest and easy to communicate with. I would recommend him to every one I know and even those I don't. I will be sure to call him again if I need any help in the future. I only have one regret: that there are not more service providers like him! He's really good.
