Tom and Josh from NH Ross performed my O2G conversion. They were excellent, professional, friendly and seemed to really like their job, the company they work for and the people they work with!
I had a 70 year old boiler (converted from coal to oil) the size of a Volkswagon beetle in my finished basement that was being removed and replaced with a Gas furnace. Before they started they laid covering to protect my floor from the soot and debris. I very much appreciated this.
This was the last week of Nov and as luck would have it the weather had just turned very cold and I was going to be without heat for two days. The guys had me covered and brought in a couple space heaters that warmed the room nicely. During the conversion I added moving a water heater closer to the furnace after installation. I'm glad I had it moved as the installation of the water heater by a different company 6 months earlier was not up to code. I had a chimney liner installed in 2005 that cost $2,000. So I was sure I could save a few bucks on a new chimney liner. When checking to make sure it was within code for the O2G... the guys discovered the liner only went part way down the chimney and did not meet code. They tried to remove the liner that was in the chimney and install a new liner. However, it was determined I was going to need a Chimney expert to repair what was previously done and install a new liner. They recommended an excellent company (Guaranteed Home Improvement) who came in discussed the job, showed me what needed to be done and completed efficiently. These guys were also friendly, professional and appeared to enjoy their job!!!
Unfortunately, for me I still need additional work to pass inspection. Old homes just keep giving this kind of love.... Under a pressure test after the installation the gage indicated I had a gas leak. Not a leak where the house would blow up but a pinhole leak under high pressure that would cause the inspection to fail. NH Ross is scheduled to be back out this week to take care of the leak.
The time difference between the install and the leak repair is because of my crazy schedule and nothing to due with NH Ross. I've actually had to reschedule on them..... I hope Tom comes back so I can hear about his new baby. His wife was due when he was doing my installation.
