The owner at the end was screaming at me in my face doing everything he could to belittle and intimidate me a female. He was doing a job at my neighbor's one of his guys came over gave me an estimate of $550. I said I'd  pay  500 cash. The owners  attitude started to show during the job when I asked him to cut two branches on the tree that they are working on. He complained and said that's not part of the job. He said, I am only topping the tree not doing side work.  At the end when I gave him 500 cash he immediately went off screaming and belittling me and trying to intimidate me and then moved that into the street sounding like a crazy man. I said to him if you spoke to me and you said you didn't agree  to take the 500 like a person in a normal voice I would pay it  but you start shouting at a customer immediately without discussion. I said this is how you treat a customer immediately going off on them!  You certainly do not want future work!

The day before the scheduled date, we confirmed with their office, moved things out of the way, and put people in place to help.

Nobody ever showed up, and they never called. We finally got through to the office late in the day, only to be told that "they have no explanation" and that "they couldn't reach the owner".

When we spoke with the owner the next day, he was rude. He insisted that "we never confirmed", "he only takes cash" and "he only gives out Certificates of Insurance when and if something goes wrong".

Had we known any of this ahead of time, we would never have wasted our time engaging them. We went with another company.

We were given a quote to remove a branch that was hanging on a tree in the front of our house. A neighbors tree fell and damaged our tree during hurricane Sandy.   The branch is cracked and hung up, too high for us to remove ourselves safely. Poormans Tree Service quoted us $200 to remove this branch and cut a few other dead branches off.   They were scheduled to come first thing Friday August 9th.   My wife waited around until after 11am and nobody showed or called. I left work early taking leave because my wife had an appointment and could not wait any longer. When nobody showed I called a couple of times to get an estimated time of arrival. Nobody returned my calls. The following day I still did not hear from anyone.  Not to reschedule or at least explain what had happened. I decided to call again. As expected no answer so I left a message for them to  not bother and I would pass the word on how unprofessional they are.  Interestingly enough that got me a returned phone call. The owner left an extremely rude message claiming that they had a family emergency and couldn't show. Then proceeded to add that he wouldn't do business with me anyway followed by a slew of vulgarities. I am a reasonable person and would have understood if he called to reschedule. I could have even understood if he called the next morning to apologize and explain that he had an emergency.   I may have even had a change of heart if he called after my message to explain and apologize. Hey things happen. A professional business man should be aware that you don't do business the way he is doing it, 
i assure you that I will spread the word and make sure that people know how this man does business. There are many other companies out there that do what he does.Steer clear   of this one.

I also spoke with the homeowner about this and he also had a very laid back attitude and didn't care that our property was damaged.
We just moved into this home and I am really upset that ontop of all the extra expensive of moving into a new home I have to deal with incompetent Service Providers.

In the course of their work, the crew dropped a branch on the neighbor's chain link fence. We didn't see this happen and the workers (which included the owner's son) didn't tell us what they did. We saw the damage the next day (it wasn't noticed due to partial concealment behind our shrubs.) The business was contacted to make repairs, and despite repeated promises that the owner would get back to us, he never did. They refused to take our calls altogether after three weeks (several messages left, no calls returned.) The last message we left indicated we would contact BBB if we didn't hear back from them. BBB was contacted and a complaint was filed. After over a month, a standard "beyond purview" letter was sent to us with instructions on initiating a lawsuit. This explains why BBB record on this company is spotless; they wouldn't even accept the complaint. This tree service was a BBB member at the time (no longer is) so it appeared that BBB was taking care of its paying membership.

The work was promised to be completed within 10 days. Several promised dates I waited, and they did not show up. They were finally done after 30 days. The work was performed while I was not at home. It was incomplete and messy. The person who came to collect the money presented himself as the owner and was nasty and threatening.

THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB OF CUTTING DOWN THE TREE AND CUTTING IT UP. THE STAFF WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL. THEY CLEANED UP ALL LIMBS AND WOOD IN THE YARD. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM FOR TREE SERVICE.

THEY DID A VERY GOOD JOB. I THOUGHT THE JOB WAS EXCELLENT. THEY DID ALL THE CLEAN UP AFTER THE JOB WAS DONE. I DID NOT EVEN KNOW THE WORK WAS BEING DONE THEY WERE SO GOOD.
