Called from craislsit ad. Dave came right over. Talked very nice seemed to know the trade. e-mailed estimate the next day. I rearced what I could, discovered he was into family motorsports (karts). Raceing credetials always impress me. Wanted 1/2 upfront money. I said no I will pay 1/2 when he shows up with material and starts work. Showed up on time collect 1/2 and started work. He was done by noon. I looked at job from a window in a room overlooking the roof. It looked fine so I paid. He did not cover my plants as stated in his ad or magnetic sweep the grass. Had some wind the next day and I noticed the new roof was peeled back exposing the deck. I called Dave he said he would be right over. Never showed. Repeated calls and e-mails set another meeting for Wed - no show. I delivered a letter to his house with no response. Bottom line he did not know how to install the roof which should have a basesheet nailed to the deck and a peel and stick applied on top. He just rolled out the base with no fastining then stuck the top sheet to the unsecured base. No contact with Dave so I have started small claims to recover my money and and seeking help from others to repair/replace this roof before another wind takes it off totally.
