Kevin Nolan Painting and Wallpapering

I asked Kevin to come out and give me an estimate for a job I needed done, including interior paint as well as some wallpaper removal and installation. A few days after the estimate I decided to hire him. . He came back out and we signed a contract to begin the job. He asked me for a deposit of 1/3 the total cost of the job which was $766. I wrote him a check which he cashed the next day. He was to begin work several weeks later. However, he cancelled via phone and continued to reschedule me. After 3 texts to me rescheduling the job he finally cancelled the job all together stating he was overbooked. He said he would mail my money back but I have not received it and it's been over 3 weeks since the contract was first signed. I've filed a complaint with The Better Business Bureau and am in the process of filing a claim with the Saratoga County Court. I wanted this review to be seen so nobody else falls victim to this person.
