When I originally requested Joe's services he graciously declined because it was outside of his service area.  After shopping around for another provider, I felt that Joe was the only one I could trust to do the job to my satisfaction.  I contacted him to see if he would reconsider and he agreed to do the job.  He estimated the cost including travel and we set a date.  Joe called, as he said he would, the day before.  He said he would arrive at around 8:30 am and 8:30 am is when he was at the door.  He was friendly and professional.  He explained everything he was going to do and got straight to work.  He was meticulous with his prep work taking extra pains to mask off the areas around the tub higher than he normally does to protect our newly installed tiles.  Because of the previous color, he had to apply six (6) coats.  By 12:30 he was done.  He went over all of the dos and don'ts for maintaining the finish and provided a 5-year guarantee for the work. The work he did was amazing.  He is a true craftsman and you can tell that he takes pride in his work.  The tub sparkles!  I am so glad I sent him a second request!  We have already recommended him to other family members and would highly recommend him to anyone who asks.

Joe was very pleasant and professional to deal with. He promptly returned my call and set up time to come to give me estimate. He completed refinishing my yellow bathtub to a gleaming white in one afternoon. He was neat and organized and cleaned up spotlessly when done. i was very happy with J&S refinishing from start to finish. 

Great.  1 day to do the re-finishing.  Joe came back the 2nd day after it dried to re-caulk around the tub.  Smell wasn't as bad as expected. Tub looks brand new!  Much cheaper than trying to replace my original cast iron tub.

Joe, the owner of the company, performed all the work. Over the phone, he listened to my description of the unit and provided an estimate that was completely consistent with the final proposal. The price he quoted was considerably higher than most of the estimates I had seen on other Angie's List reviews, but since another very highly rated contractor had refused to do the job after seeing the unit (because he felt it was too technically difficult to complete to his standards), I felt that the price was probably reasonable. Joe called ahead to confirm and arrived on the scheduled work day on time at 8:00 a.m., carefully removed newly installed plumbing fixtures and instructed me in how to replace them when the glaze was completely cured, thoroughly and meticulously prepped the unit, masked the entire bathroom, set up ventilation, and glazed the tub/shower, applying a beautiful even coating to all the nooks and crannies and the cramped space next to the toilet. As he worked, he showed me any defects in the original molding of the tub before he applied finish so that I would not mistake them for product application defects (which I truly appreciated). He had estimated that the job would take the entire day to complete, but he worked continuously and was done, packed and ready to leave at 3:30 p.m. He went over the reinstallation of the plumbing fixtures with me again, recommended a matching caulk that I would have to apply when the tub cured 24 hours later, and provided detailed care instructions. Although he finished early, his work was meticulous and he left my bathroom spotlessly clean. In addition, he cooperated with the painting contractors that were spread out right outside the door of my tiny bathroom without complaint. The tub/shower looks brand new, gleaming white, and matches my Kohler sink and toilet. I couldn't be happier with my entire interaction with J&S Refinishing. Joe was pleasant, professional and patient and showed obvious pride in the quality of his work. The finished product was worth every penny.

Both the sink and tub were rusty, with a lot of scratches and dings. Joe came and provided the estimate and also did all of the work himself. He took his time & now both the sink and tub look brand new.  The surfaces are so smooth & gleaming white. He even came back to the house after the plumber installed the new fixtures. The plumber put a small scratch on the tub and Joe came immediately and repaired it without charging us.

When I called, Joe gave me a detailed estimate with a range depending on the condition of the tub. He set up a day to come and on that day gave me a firm estimate, which was within the original range. He covered everything and put down tarps to protec the floors, set up a ventilation system, and desribed what he would be doing. He spent approximately six hours completing the job. It looks great! He has a five year guarantee and provides detailed instructions on care of the new finish.

I DIDN'T DISLIKE ANYTHING ABOUT THEM, THEY DID A GREAT JOB AND THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL. THEY ARE REASONABLY PRICED TOO. I HAD QUOTES FROM OTHER PLACES FOR AS MUCH AS $800, BUT OBVIOUSLY J+S WAS MUCH CHEAPER, THEY WERE ONLY $450.
