Ben was on site at the designated time, was up front with their hourly rates, and was able to complete the job impeccably!. I expected to have to re-plaster at least, but they searched the basement and crawl spaces to find out if it were possible run the cables without cutting holes through any drywall. I was unfamiliar with the existing systems and wiring, so they had to do a bit of detective work to find what they needed. They were diligent, worked the entire time they were on site, except when Ben drove to get some additional cables and equipment that was needed. The entire job took a few hours, but I would hire them again in a heartbeat! The job was perfect, they were personable and highly professional. I was glad to pay a 'master electrician' rate for work that was hassle-free.

I called Custom Lighting of Suffolk due one circuit being without power. The two guys that showed up found a short in the line to my lamp post in the front yard. They ran a new line to the post. I dug and buried the wire. The job took them three hours at $85 per mechanic plus $50 in materials for a total of $579. Within one week the problem reappeared. Ben the owner, came over and found the problem to be a nail through a wire ($125). A mechanic ($85/hr) and a junior mechanic ($50/hr) repaired the problem when I was not home.. The three hour job cost $455 including materials. Within one month power to the light post was out once again. I called Ben about the issue but did not want another $500+ bill. No adjustments to the bills were made. I refused to have them look at the problem again. I'll have another electrician do the work.
