I first contacted them in November 2012, shortly after Hurricane Sandy caused me to have a 7 day power blackout. (my second extended blackout in 2 years). I selected them to do the job because they were professional from the outset, & seemed prepared to deal with the havoc that followed Hurricane Sandy.
I was immediately favorably impressed with PowerPro, because even with the extremely high volume of calls & work from potential new customers, the person who answered the phone wrote down all the revelevant info, & said that a sales person would call me back within a couple of days, & he did.
He came to my house, & provided an estimate for a whole-house generator, & told me right then, that due to the high demand for generators, there would be a 2-3 month delay in when it would be delivered to them by Kohler. His monetary estimate was correct to the nearest dollar, & there were no hidden fees or extra charges. The generator arrived a little earlier than he had estimated, & PowerPro installed it in January.
The big problem then became the Propane Gas Company (Paraco) who was to install the propane tank (but that's another story for another review). After I straightened out all the problems with the gas company (no fault of PowerPro), PowerPro connected the generator to my house electrical system & running in the middle of April 2013. It's programmed to do a test run once per week, which it's done.
I had wanted to turn off the electric power to my house, to test the system in action, but before I got the chance to do that, there was a minor blackout here that lasted about 30 minutes. The generator worked flawlessly, & I didn't even know there was a blackout (except for one beep from my UPS's (computer back-up power), until later on.
PowerPro has been responsive to all my questions, & I signed a maintenance contract with them. They were professional at a time when other companies were in a panic due to the high volume of new business, shortage of equipment, etc.
I highly recommend PowerPro to anyone who's looking for a whole house generator. Just be careful with who you choose to do the plumbing hook-up (I recommend Mr. Faucet), & even more careful with who you choose to do the gas tank (avoid Paraco).

I am continually impressed with this (young) man with his professionalism, warm personality and the TIME he freely gives to talk to you about your electrical problems or plans. He takes his time to do the job properly and unlike most contractors, if he cannot make the appointment, he calls ahead so you are not left wondering if he'll ever show up. This last time at my house, he did not charge me for the extra hour or more he spent at my house doing work that was clearly not part of the job he was given. He made sure that I was happy with the work before he left the house. I love his personalized service which is so hard to find these days. He is professional, prompt, competent and has a friendly, down-to-earth personality.

I never take the time to write a "review" on anything, but I was so impressed with the work and professionalism of this company, I had to make a recommendation! Russ (the owner) installed 3 W.A.C high hats in my bathroom with a dimmer switch. He was really thorough in explaining everything to me and my husband, he was punctual and a very pleasant person to have in my home. Best of all, this guy is a PERFECTIONIST, he brought his own shop-vac and vacuumed and cleaned up after he was finished. We have never had such a positive experience with a contractor, everything went smoothly and our bathroom looks fabulous thanks to Russ! Highly recommended.
