"In response to our customer’s complaint, our repair documentation shows the vehicle was purchased 8/1/14 with 73,835 miles on it. Customer brought vehicle in for repairs on 8/13/14 and we replaced the rear upper control arms, both from struts, turned front rotors, replaced the engine purge valve, mounted, balanced and installed four new tires, performed a four wheel alignment and oil change, checked all fluids and tire pressure. Customer brought vehicle in on 9/10/14 and we deglazed front pads and rotors and swapped from side to side, rebalanced all four wheels, replaced left front hub bearing, and tested and recharged the A/C. On 9/26/14 we replaced the front brake pads at which time the vehicle had 80,660 miles on it, which was 6,825 miles driven since time of purchase. This pre-owned vehicle was only covered by the New York Limited Warranty for 60 days or 3,000 miles, whichever came first. We continued to try and satisfy our customer at no charge to her and with a free rental vehicle while repairs were being completed well over the mileage limitation. The service manager and I both went for a road test of the vehicle with [member name removed] on 9/27/14 and at that time she was completely satisfied and had no complaints. On 10/6/14 customer brought in vehicle with 81,924 miles, 8,089 miles driven since purchase, and complained that the muffler had hales and was loud, and that the vehicle had a shimmy. We cleaned dirt build up on two of the wheel assemblies and rebalanced, road tested and found operating to specs. Customer was given estimates to replace muffler with G.M. parts or aftermarket parts, but was explained that it wasn’t covered under warranty. Customer declined repair. We did not charge customer for the service performed that day. We have made every effort to satisfy this customer above and beyond what is required by New York State because we have an excellent staff who are dedicated and a reputation for providing quality service to members of the surrounding community.
