Marcel's Custom Kitchens And Baths

We have used Marcel's for several prior remodeling projects including kitchen, guest bathroom, and den. We recently remodeled our master bathroom. The selection process with Jerry went quickly and smoothly despite the need for a custom-made vanity due to the small size of the room. Extensive precautions were taken to protect the remainder of the house from debris and dust. The total remodeling took 9 working days (we were given and estimate of 8). We are very happy with the results and would certainly use Marcel's again and would recommend them to others.

From the moment I called Marcels they were absolutely professional and prompt. I have had work done in my home before and the contractors were not as honest and clean working as Marcels Kitchens and Baths. Jerome was extremely reasonable and most importantly he did EVERYTHING he said he was going to do. I have already recommended him and whenever I have my next job, he will be the only one that I call.

Estimate:

Jerry showed up exactly on time to take the measurements of our bathroom.  He also brought a portfolio of his work for us to review.  We later met at his showroom so that we could discuss design options and layout.  An exact estimate of all of the costs was provided within a few days of the showroom appointment.

Remodeling:

The entire project took about 1.5 weeks; the estimate that Jerry initially gave us. The bathroom was ripped to the studs and completely renovated although all of the electrical and plumbing remained in the same setup.  The workers showed up on-time for every day of the project, took very brief breaks, and were very courteous when interacting with us.  Additionally, Jerry would visit the work site everyday to check on the progress of the work.  Even when not present, Jerry was very easy to get a hold of and was extremely responsive to our questions.



Overall:

We were very satisfied with the work performed and the finished product.  The tiling work looks fantastic; we tiled to the ceiling and also opted for a river rock shower floor.  The final cost of the renovation was exactly what Jerry estimated with no hidden fees or add-ons.

On time everyday, kitchen is great.

The work started 11/28/12 and finished 1/23/13 more than one month passed the 3 weeks we were told it was going to take by Gerry. The main reason was the tiler. He did a great job, but he worked alone tiling and carrying up all the materials to the 2nd floor bathroom working from 7am to 7pm for two weeks. The bathroom looks great especially the new shower with the glass door.
The only problem was the grout in the corners started to fall out. Gerry came over with a helper and claucked and regrouted it.

Marcel's price was in the middle of the highest and lowest of four contractors. The quality of the materials, however, were superior when compared to the most expensive contractor. The demolition was done within a half day, and the refurbishment began almost immediately. The workers arrived at 7:00 AM daily, and worked twelve hour days; sometimes longer. The rough work was completed relatively quickly, and as expected, the finish work and detailing took longer. The whole job took approximately two and a half weeks, which was only slightly longer than estimated.
The attention to detail in the work was exceptional. Ate end of the project, we were completely delighted with the work that was done. I would highly recommend Marcel's.

The guy was very nice but it seems like the job I was looking for is not something that they normally do. When I asked him, is this what you normally do, I think he said no. I don't want to be somebody's guinea pig so that is where I stopped with them. I don't want to give them a low grade because they maybe what somebody else is looking for but they were not what I was looking for so I don't think I can fairly grade them. I would probably not use them.

Gerry is a consummate professional who helped us put together an exquisite bathroom (both upstairs and downstairs). He responded immediately to our concerns throughout the process, and started the job promptly and finished in the time frame he had originally provided us. His workers are very courteous and their tile work and finishing work was great. We will definitely contact Marcel's when we remodel our kitchen in the near future. Overall one of the most pleasant contractors we've dealt with to date and would highly recommend to our friends and family.

Jerry helped with all planing, was on time, addressed all questions and complete job on time (7 working days).

When Marcel's remodeled my kitchen, the owner was Dominic and he had an apprentice working for him. My experience with them during the kitchen remodel was nothing short of great. By the time they remodeled my bathroom last year, Dominic was retired and his apprentice had taken over the business. Thankfully, my experience with Marcel's under the new ownership was exactly the same. They are still just as phenomenal! They provide expert craftsmanship and professionalism. The new owner stopped by my home at least once a day during the bathroom remodel to make sure everything was on point. I'm very happy with their service and work!

When Marcel's remodeled my kitchen, the owner was Dominic and he had an apprentice working for him. I've had no problems with my kitchen over the past six years. The project went very smoothly, and everything still looks and works beautifully. They were very easy to deal with, and I never felt that they were trying sell me something I didn't want. I have nothing but praise for Marcel's.

Bathroom came out fabulous. Jerry and his crew were punctual and polite. Left worksite cleaned up each day. Jerry and Joe had great suggestions so everything looks great together. Jerry worked very hard to incorporate some nice decorative cabinetry in our very tight space(did not give up when it did not fit easily!) Final bill was exactly as expected. Would happily recommend them to anyone!
