Very well. The bathroom and bar area came out beautifully.

Everything from start to finish was a pleasure - Mike the head carpenter took the time to explain exactly what and how things would be done. Steve, the Owner of DHI was onsite daily to also fully explain all stages of the remodeling.  DHI are the most pleasant and reliable contractor we have ever used.  We highly recommend them to anyone who is in the market for any type of home remodeling.  They are absolutely the best.

We had a terrible experience from a contractor we hired to re do our kitchen. After a month of shotty workmanship, mistakes and lies from original contractor, we demanded him off the job. We were in a desperate search for an HONEST and RELIABLE contractor to fix the MESS we were left with. We came upon DHII a.k.a. Dependable Home Improvementts. Steve Galindo came to our rescue. His men fixed and corrected ALL the mistakes that were made and in a timely manner. He communicated with us regularly, showed up as promised and ON TIME. Most contractors didn't want to be bothered with fixing someone else's mess but Steve saw how upset we were and understood how important this was to us, so he agreed to squeeze us into his very busy schedule. I would recommend him to EVERYONE.

They are really great to work with. Everything was done just the way we discussed , the workers are very professional, clean, and dependable.  We especially loved the father and son who did tile work. We asked for something different and after careful discussion came up with a solution that  worked for them and provided what we were looking for. The tile guys REALLY take great pride in their work. Loved everyone we worked with and cant wait till next project.

DHI was a lifesaver. They came in to complete a job that had been poorly performed by another contractor. They are worthy, honest. Restored my bath in contractors.

Workmanship was excellent. Communication was excellent throughout the procedure and during the week that the work was performed. Anthony was very accommodating and worked within a very narrow time frame. He thoroughly explained all the work that was to be done beforehand. I couldn't be happier with the new appearance of my kitchen.

Steve Galindo, the owner, sets the standard for his employees with his professionalism, genuine friendliness and accessibility, and his folks follow his lead. They live up to their name and are a delight with which to work.
Steve's designer and engineer were extremely pleasant and responsive as they worked with our concept to come up with a final layout. The workers Steve sent to do our renovation are the best we've ever seen in quality of work and character of person. All were courteous and professional. Steve's craftsmen always came on time and were always gentlemen. They took pains to keep the house clean. Even after the demolition of the bathroom, once they left one wouldn't have known they were in the house if the bathroom door was closed. The cleanliness of the work was consistent throughout the project.
The father-and-son team who did the reconstruction and tile were meticulous, precise, and creative when faced with a problem and were as friendly as could be. They constantly checked with us to make sure that items were what we wanted and where we wanted them. The tile was plumb, straight, perfectly symmetrical: absolutely beautiful work. They are artists at their trade.
The fellows who did the final installations of fixtures and cabinets, painting, etc., were also extremely professional and friendly. They took the time to do the job correctly. They identified places where changes should be made so that we'd be pleased with the result. In fact, we were pleasantly surprised that Steve's team never was in a rush to finish or to get to another job – and this was at the time after Hurricane Sandy and Dependable had plenty of jobs to do.
Dependable is quick to respond to requests and changes. Even in a case where we requested a tricky change well into the project because we didn't understand the effect of part of the design, they responded professionally and genially. Overall, we couldn't ask for a more pleasant contractor to carry out our project.
We can offer some general advice after the fact. The smaller the bathroom, the more creative and flexible you have to be in your design and layout. Consequently, take extra time to study and understand the design so the end result will fit you just right. Don't be afraid to ask questions of the designer and craftsmen (and women) as the work progresses. If you work with them in a friendly manner, they respond likewise.
We cannot speak highly enough about the DHI people. In short, we recommend Dependable to anyone.

Due to family visiting, I had time constraints for the kitchen to be finished. My new cabinets were going into the same place as my old ones. I chose my cabinets from samples in their Massapequa showroom. Although they also have hardware on display, I went with a knob chosen elsewhere and they were able to get them for my cabinets. When installing my crown moulding, the carpenter exhibited extreme patience and care with the result being a flawless job. The marble tile back splash was also installed with great care and patience. It was obvious from the start that everyone involved with producing my new, beautiful kitchen, were professionals that showed pride in their work. The kitchen was finished on time, as promised.
Everyone was also very polite, and responsive to any of my concerns. I am extremely pleased with the final results and would highly recommend them.

Steve and his crew did an outstanding job! From design work and concept through execution, we had input throughout the process. Steve and his staff were always courteous and were eager to listen to and act on any of our concerns. We felt very at ease about a very large remodel thanks to Dependable. Everything that they did was well planned, and when we ran into a problem with the town over the planned extension, Steve and his staff were quick to make the necessary changes and worked with us to make sure we were happy with the results before the work began.

For the majority of the remodel, we were not living in the home. Steve's workers were very respectful of our property--even when we were not there, we knew our home was in good hands. Even once we moved in, having the workers from Dependable in our home was like having a trusted friend visit.

The workers were very punctual. They arrived with a set list of tasks, and always made sure to complete those tasks, and were always willing to work with us if we saw something that we weren't 100% happy with, or if there was something extra that was not in the original specification. (Which happened more than a few times.)

This is a professional outfit. We would not hesitate to recommend them, and we plan on making them our first call if we have any home improvement or repair needs in the future.
