I was overdue for getting my chimney cleaned. After researching I called up Always Affordable Chimney. Despite it already being December, John came to inspect a couple of days later and told me we needed a liner for the chimney furnace and that it was a priority safety-wise, despite needing a creosote cleaning in the fireplace. John showed me the photos and explained it all as well as showed me inside the furnace flue. They came to do the work a couple of days after I called to confirm. The crew, led by John, was professional and thorough, answering any questions we had. They worked with me for making payment arrangements and threw in the creosote cleaning at no charge. John and his team couldn't have been better! Highly recommend!

Although the price was higher than comparable business, the service was beyond expected. The cleaners arrived within the time stated, they were courteous, SUPER CLEAN, and fast. For that alone I would recommend them to others and hire them again. My fireplace looks GREAT! One suggestion for this company - highly recommend office department send a confirmation email or text or call (something- anything) to establish and maintain SOME sort of communication with client. I haven’t used fire place yet because it is summer but Overall great experience!

Did a great job

We inherited a hazardous mess when when we bought our home a couple of years ago - 120 year old brick chimney with a huge hole in the base of the stack, crumbling bricks, mortar completely gone in places, fireplace floor missing, liner rusted through. Several masons looked at it and told us to tear it down, so we decided to call chimney specialists. We got three bids, all of which were actually about the same price, but ONLY Al and his crew from Always Affordable got up on the roof to fully inspect the chimney before quoting the job (the others were just guessing at the condition of the liner/interior). They had the best plan for safely repairing the stack and answered all of my questions, and Michelle in the office was great about scheduling and keeping everything organized. Al and his crew were super prompt, very efficient and INCREDIBLY neat. They finished a huge job in less than two days and left my home and basement MUCH cleaner than they found it - they even vacuumed the basement stairs! The fireplace looks great and the stack is now solid as a rock. They even did a few extra tasks while they were on the roof, including adding a cap to our sewer vents and tarring a couple of problem spots, no charge. Really awesome company all the way around. They will be our first call for any future chimney work!

We have a very high, steep roof with difficult accessibility. They arrived on time with a well worked out plan to safely accomplish the work. They took great care not to do any damage to our 100+ year old house. They did a very thorough inspection, finding nearly rusted through duct work connecting our furnace to the flue. They were a little expensive, but given the difficulty of the situation we are very satisfied.

I originally called them as I needed a chimney cap. Al and his crew showed up on time and were very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. He showed me pictures of my chimney and what needed to be done and gave me a written quote. I hired them on the spot to complete the job due to the good reviews here on Angie's list and I was not disappointed. They did a great job and were very clean and thorough. I would definitely hire them again.

Professional, courteous, reasonable price

The way it worked is I had a pair of "sweeps" come show up at my house after giving me a phone call saying they were on their way (nice touch). When they arrived and began to start the main worker began with what began to be a series of what amounted to complaints about the job before him. 1.) the fact it was an insert fireplace (he hadn't that information) 2.) there was "a stone he had to move back and forth" in order to clean each side 3.) the interior pipe was corrugated which made it again, "more difficult." 4.) There was "heavy deposits" "requiring special brushes." All this was going to require lots more work. He said he "had to charge me more." I agreed based on his list of comments--but when he was finished in short order (about 40 mins), I was puzzled as to how the price jumped so high when the work time was negligible. It didn't match and it rubbed me the wrong way. To make a long story short, I called their office days later and they completely made me whole again by agreeing on a more reasonable price-- in my estimation. The kind and thoughtful lady who helped me really made me feel completely convinced that quality of service was more important than how much money their company made. This completely restored my faith in them and I now would go out of my way to recommend and/or use them the next time.

They found significant water damage in the chimney due to lack of a cap on the chimney. They had to replace the damper (which included a cap) and swept the chimney as well as replace mortar between bricks in our firebox. Chimney clean and safe now.

These guys get an A+ for great customer service and professionalism. This applies to every single person I came in contact with in the company (office admin, owner, and foreman). Although I feel that the service pricing is on the high end, their dependability and excellent Quality of Service made up for it. They won't be satisfied until you, the customer, are. I strongly recommend this company, and definitely would hire them again.
