the owner, Norman Parez, Jr., was very condescending to me at different times and did NOT do the job as discussed...every time I asked a question about something that was not finished I was actually yelled at to not tell him this as he knows what needs to be finished...so I waited till he asked for the final payment... he wanted his final payment of $1610 and I then said but you still didn't finish...it was here that the owner, Norman Parez, Jr., threatened out a lean on my home if i did not pay his worker, Mike, who had come on November 10, 2013 to finish all the items outstanding...i still maintained the job was not finished... gave the written list of items not completed as his worker Mike had asked for and then never heard from the owner until i emailed him in December, 2013, with the same list of unfinished items...Norman's 12/9/13 response was that he was not finishing nor was he going to repair the damages to my property...the last payment is not even enough to get someone to finish all the problems left behind from Norman Parez, Jr., and his company, ABSOLUTE CONSTRUCTION, INC. started job 1 day late with no notice causing me to loose 1 vacation day and gave agreement with 10% increase on day job started and men were ready to go...i realize now i should have sent him and his crew away and loose 2 weeks vacation or try to find another company to come at this time... didn't finish installing the exhaust which remains loose in the attic and not exhausted to outside and because of this I cannot use exhaust in bathroom...Norman had me purchase a fan as it was always part of the plan and on his drawing...he explained how my existing one was illegal as exhaust went into the attic and not the outside...his original plan after installation of the fan was to feed the exhaust thru the attic so it would come thru the wall to the outside just above the bath window... but the wall above the window in the bath had no exit in the attic...his plan was an error as the only exit in the attic is to go thru the roof or the dog house dormer...he was to return to finish this... didn't finish the ceiling painting as discussed and he claims it is not in the contract!....how can a COMPLETE bathroom gutting and installation take place without the new ceiling and new moldings being painted?...and ceiling edge not finished leaving noticeable marks and indents... never installed shelves as discussed and on graph even though i asked several times when the tile was being installed... wall lights installed up side down and then when fixed they were too high and had to be lowered which included removing and adding tile at my expense!... single wall light was not installed as contracted...put in ceiling light instead... left nails in door jam from nailing in new moldings and door cannot close completely... one handle lower than the other under the sink... after every work week they left their garbage outside in my back AND front yard of cement buckets, bags, wood and I had to remove all of which the cement buckets were very heavy...each time a worker came I was told they would remove the leftover garbage... Norrman wanted 3rd payment to pay mike, his worker, and I explained money was to be put in escrow till the completion of the job as per the contract we both signed and with no toilet or sink or bath tub installed as of yet...so he installed sink and toilet to get 3rd payment....then tub was resting on new toilet during tub installation in September, 2013, seriously scratching the toilet seat ($74 value as per St Thomas)... Norman had me order rough in July, 2013, for the tub fixture so tub could be installed prior to sink and toilet....i had to pay an extra $65 and tub never got installed until September, 2013...Plumber was also subcontracted by Norman... took my sons fan out of his room without permission and used it while gutting the bathroom...did not cover the doorway and even left my sons room opened causing great dust all over...cleanup by me was tortuous... Heated floor mat delivered July 22 and i noticed not enough near the front of the toilet....Norman said it's enough heat...now the floor is cold when one is sitting on the toilet... Norman subcontracted granite and the granite guy stood me up 4 times delaying tub installation and costing me time off from work!...also, had to pay granite guy for the installation also even though Norman's contact said installation was included in Normans price!.... scratches and digs in the oak wooden hallway floor and doors broke my antique wall opposite the bathroom and assured me they could fix it to match the existing stucco design but they came no where close! broke the German tile in downstairs bath when doing the wiring in the wall opposite to lead upstairs and never replaced though they promised and I had extra tile and grout...also, patchwork on the wall worked on is all bumpy and needs to be fixed and painted stained my new stone driveway with oil leaks from their car and also cement due to not covering stone properly when they worked outside...also the cutting of tile for bathroom left dust on wrought iron gates etc. and they never power washed and is still on gates...buckets of cement water was poured in my flower beds and in my stone driveway leaving also a white stain to date.... 2 new blue stone on front entrance were cut by large garbage can bucket of debris from bathroom gutting that fell on blue stone that was not covered...they never replaced or credited he wanted to be paid their last payment of 1610. (10% above the original 15100.) before doing the above and I claimed the contract read that last payment was due at time of completion now the new sink is leaking and the toilet needs a new flapper! July 9, 2013, Paid $8000 (lost one extra day from work as promised 7/9)...had originally promised June to me... July 22, 2013, Paid 4000 July 27, 2013, Paid 3000 (tub still not installed) August 3, 2013, Granite installed September 15, 2013, tub installed November 10, 2013, fixed lights that were too high and up side down!...fixed shower fixtures...installed side of tub...
Description of Work: completely gutted my upstairs bathroom and attempted to finish the project....smashed thru to the opposite wall destroying my stucco wall from 1920's in the stairway going into living room...fixed but could not replicate leaving a distinction from old to new...cracked my german tile in the bathroom downstairs when breaking thru the opposite wall to feed electrical wire to the upstairs bathroom...stained my new stone pavers in driveway with cement and new wrought iron gates with cement dust that still is there....sliced into my new blue stone porch when taking out debris...left nails in door frame of new bathroom so door cannot be completely closed...left hinges loose away from frame...didn't finish ceiling indents etc nor the exhaust van that they had me purchase to exit out attic wall...the hose is just loose on the attic floor and still needs to be installed to exhaust to the outside of house...never finished ceiling edge....now one year later the sink is leaking and the toilet needs a new flapper
