Old Oak Hardwood Flooring

Sean was great. He was on-time for every appointment we made, gave an extremely reasonable price, did the work quickly and to my satisfaction, and cleaned up meticulously. Highly recommended.

We've used Sean / Old Oak Hardwood Flooring twice in the last six weeks - once for our space and once for our rental. Both times we had them just sand the floors (one Brazilian Cherry, the other Oak). The oak floor in particular was in terrible shape - lots of dips - which they did a fabulous job of eliminating. His guys are meticulous with edges and corners as well. Also on time, reliable, quick scheduling, tidy, and very reasonably priced. Sean is not always the greatest at returning voice mail, but almost always answers, so not an issue. Cell phone is the best way to contact him - email not so much.

Called Sean and he gave me an estimate and that is what I paid.  He and his men showed up at the time he told me he would and he and his men got to work immediately.  Sean left and his men continued with sanding and putting on the first coat of Polyurethane.  They came back today and put on the second coat and the floors look amazing.  Great work, great price, will definitely use him again for the remainder of the units in the house.  This is a company that in my opinion acts in a professional manner and gives a great job for a wonderful price.  Could not ask for better service.

They did a fabulous job. They are just unbelievably good. Their price was very fair. I can’t just say anything negative about them. I would recommend them to anybody. My friend has a friend who is doing a house, so he recommended them to him and they did their floor. I would use them again. I would rate them high scale overall as they are very skilled, they work with you with what you want. We had a complicated job as we took the walls down and there were big gashes on the floor were the walls were. Then in another room which had been renovated which was extended and we had built a new wall. We had four different old floors. They dealt with that and it looked just perfect. We can never tell that there was anything there. The work that they did where the gashes were is so nice. We had two rooms there and they took of the wall from between a hall and a dining room. They over did it so that people cannot even tell that there were walls there. It is just magnificent. They do absolutely professional work and at very fair price. It is so wonderful to have a provider like that whom we can depend on. There was a instance when he came out the first time. I had asked him as to what type of wood flooring would be suitable for kitchen but he told me that he wouldn’t prefer wood as there would be moisture and heat. So no matter what ever we do there it would wear out faster. He also suggested that some type of tile is best for kitchen. This was the man who could have made thousands of dollars to make our floor expensive but he didn’t. That’s the kind of person he is. He will tell you what exactly what you need and nothing more. Other people would have taken advantage when we ask what has to be done but he said that he wouldn’t use wood. He was very honest. He looks at the job and tells you what is needed and what you want. He won’t impose until you insist him to tell what he likes. He is very special and the people who work with are also good. He did my neighbor’s floor two years before and it looked absolutely fabulous. Then I called him a year later to do my house. I don’t know how my neighbor got him but I got him from her.

Sean O?Sullivan at Old Oak Hardwood Flooring is the consummate professional. There are not enough superlatives to describe the quality of his work and that of his colleague, Bill. My husband and I took down several walls in our apartment, leaving large gaping gashes where they used to be. Sean was able to successfully weave three old wood areas (86 year old white oak) with slightly different patterns together with the new wood areas. After refinishing both, it was virtually impossible to differentiate them. The work is detailed, faultless, and absolutely gorgeous and looks as though it was designed that way from the beginning. In another project, we expanded a small utility room making it into a bedroom. Sean had to create a new floor over four distinct pieces: 2.5 feet of dining room, a gash where the wall was, the small room floor, and a bathroom floor. The result is magnificent and the new room also looks as though it is part of the original design. Sean does whatever is necessary to complete the job well, he is easy to work with, responsive, and is completely fair in his pricing. We plan on asking him to do any wood floor work we may need in the future and we recommend him whole-heatedly and without qualification.
