I generally start with a product from the grocery store to clear out drains, as once a year something gets clogged. This time I tried everything; plunger, Drano, nothing helped. So I called Economy. The first time I called I left a message and didn't hear back. Previously they had always gotten back to me within a few hours. A few days later I called again, and the man who answered said the boss was on vacation so things were a bit out of the ordinary.
The plumber that came, Lawrence, I had met before. He arrived at the appointed time (actually he was early but politely waited outside, so as not to ring my bell TOO early in the morning) and was very fast and did a great job. I have a 1930's bathtub with a device on the side you drop to and quot;stopand quot; the tub- and he went through there with a snake to access the clog.
I have used Economy before and they have always done a fine job. They come on time, offer me an accurate and honest opinion. Previously they replaced a radiator valve and also fixed my plunge-ometer toilet. Both are still working great over a year later.
I will use them again for sure!

It went great. The plumber showed up promptly and did a competent job, spending 3 hours on the tasks. The dispatcher was efficient too. Same day service, only 1 call needed.

I called and described two problems, a leak from a radiator and a running flushometer toilet. Frank was very helpful in assessing the problems and made an appointment right away. He was also quite flexible and allowed me to change the appointment at the last minute to a later day. We decided not to fix the radiator until we were sure what the problem was (I no longer saw water where I had seen it the year before) but he came and reviewed the "running" flushometer. When he noted the parts he needed he ran to the hardware store and came back and fixed it. So, though a relatively minor repair, the time he gave to discussing other potential problems in the house was a big help. And after his repair the toilet is fine. He also could have insisted I replace the whole thing but instead was willing to repair it, in spite of it's age and wear (probably 50 years) and agreed to get me a price to replace the whole mechanism when it is no longer fixable. I don't think I could ask for more from a plumber.

Called and spoke with, I guess, the boss. He was really nice and scheduled for the next day. We're not early risers so we requested a 9am appointment rather than a 7am appointment, but someone called at 6:45am saying they didn't have the apartment number. Luckily, I happened to be up so I threw some clothes on and let him in while my husband (who works nights) slept on. The plumber who came wasn't the guy I'd spoken with the day before but he was really a great guy. Enthusiastic, very easy to talk with and he didn't talk to me like I was an idiot - always my fear when working with tradesmen. He gave me the impression that they rarely do private residential jobs, more commercial jobs.

He really took care in making sure that the kitchen sink problem was really fixed. Likewise the toilet problem was an easy fix but he made sure that it was done right.

All in all it took just over two hours but they only charged me for two hours labor, plus travel time and parts.

Because the boss didn't have the apartment number (this was after the visit,mind!) the bill took over a week to come but it all got sorted out and I thought the charges were reasonable, if fractionally more than I had expected. Would totally use them again when it comes time to renovate the bathroom because they were so pleasant and professional.

It was excellent! Instead of using the snake mechanism and charging a fortune, he was honest and provided a simple solution to the problem.

I had water shooting out from the main water valve that cracked. The plumber, Frank, came told us what was wrong and was going to fix it right away but husband wanted to get more estimates. He was the 1st to see the problem. We wanted to make sure his price was reasonable. We got screwed so many times by contractors we had to make sure. In the end we didn't use him b/c my father said he can try to fix it and he did. The plumber was courteous, quick to come over on such short notice and didn't try to pull our leg on what the problem was. My husband already knew what the problem was but needed confirmation. He was the only honest plumber out of 5 companies we called in. We would definitely use this company if we need a plumber.

They were very nice, handled everything properly and gave me a fair price. I think they were very good. They were professional, responsive and punctual.

THE COMPANY WAS QUICK TO RESPOND AND GOT MY SINK AND TOILET DRAINING RIGHT IN A VERY SHORT TIME. THEY TOOK THE TIME TO SHOW ME SOME THINGS I CAN DO TO PREVENT THIS PROBLEM IN THE FUTURE.

OUR PIPES WERE LEAKING WATER AND WE WANTED IT FIXED IMMEDIATELY. WE LOOKED THIS COMPANY UP IN THE YELLOW PAGES AND THEY DID A GREAT JOB. THEY WERE COURTEOUS AND ON TIME.
