At first, he was fairly consistant and showed up as agreed. His drywall work was fine and he completed most of the entryway work. He started working in the kitchen and we made some adjustments to the plan as it evolved. He worked mostly in my garage using it as a work room. He was not very good about cleaning up after himself. I started to notice some things that didn't look right and I would ask him to address. My kitchen was about 70% complete and he left me a note that he would be back the next morning and would be completely done in 3 days. At this point I had paid him all of the money we had agreed to, less $500 plus some extras. He didn't show the next day, nor the day after or the day after that. I tried to call his cell and phone. His phone was not in service and his cell always went to voicemail. Since then, I have found many issues with the work he has done. He hooked up my stove to propane and told me it was converted from gas, but it wasn't. I had to pay my Propane company to come out twice to determine what was wrong, then order the part I needed then re-install. The lighting was done incorrectly among other issues. Bottom line here is that it will likely cost me another $3,500 to finish the job! I've had several contractors come out and look at the work and most are hesitant to touch the work. I am now throwing good money after bad and it is a hard lesson learned. Be warned....do not hire this contractor.
Description of Work: I hired Tom Sheehan & Sons to do some drywall work on the entry to my living room and to also do a small kitchen remodel. The job consisted of completing the drywall work around an entryway, relocate electric, cable and installing a saddle. Additionally, he agreed to complete a kitchen remodel which consisted of relocating a sink & dishwasher, installing a new stove & hood, tiling a backsplash area above stove, retrofitting & painting cabinets, planing and installing hard rock maple counter tops, installing high hats & pendant lights, and installing open shelving above the counter.
