Riedel Contracting

We have a really nice, 10-year-old house.  Yet today, I feel like we've given the house a serious upgrade.  The materials used - they asked my opinion on what they bought - were top of the line and will enhance value of the house as well as the curbside appeal.  And most importantly, the attic will be properly vented so that the heat will not build up in the summer and the moisture will not build up in the winter.  The guys ran into several unexpected snags today in performing the install - there were already some ridge vents in but they had not been installed properly.  And the ridge shingles were adequate but not the recommended thickness. Matt called to explain our options and we decided to go with the upgraded vents and shingles to have the quality and function up top match the value of the house below.
The guys were super nice and showed me pictures on their phone of the new slots that they had cut and how there was nowhere for the vents to breathe on the install before.  I went up in the attic to take a look and the difference already feels spectacular.  Today is a mid 70's day with brilliant sunshine, and the attic is only slightly warm.  Before the job it would have been stifling and our AC would have been running non-stop.
We are really happy with these guys and would recommend Riedel to others.  Even though they ran into snags - which were from the original builder - the project will come in within the ballpark estimate.  And the most important thing is that they did the troubleshooting and fixed the problem that I called them to address!

The owner Matt Riedel came to my house and I explained to him the work that I wanted done.  Matt is very knowledgeable and had just returned from a GAF seminar in Texas which was encouraging in its own right.  He provided me with an estimate on the spot and assured me his crew was seasoned and experienced which was a big factor in my decision to go with this contractor along with the company's longevity.        
I had also stopped by a house on my way home one night where Riedel had done the roof work (a Riedel Roofing stood on the front lawn).  I rang the owner's doorbell (she was startled at first) and explained I was thinking about hiring Riedel for a job and asked her if she would use Matt's company.  She had nothing but good things to say about the crew and the quality of the job.             

When the crew showed up, they did not disappoint.  They were very polite and courteous and did an outstanding job.  I am a perfectionist and was very pleased with the work.  The crew did not rush but took its time to ensure the job was done right.  They drilled 4-inch holes for the soffit vents spacing them every few feet apart.  They then vented my bathroom vents out through the roof by cutting a hole in the roof and connecting the vents.   My 15-year shutters were replaced with new shutters.  They did an impeccable job of cleaning everything up as well.    
Matt was responsive throughout whenever I had any questions which was appreciated.

The crew from Riedel are all good guys. They truly do take their time to do things the way you would want them done on your home. The shingles go on carefully with the nail gun set on a low setting and then the installer finishes driving the nail to the correct depth by hand hammering each nail. The only complaint you could possibly have is the time it takes to do the job correctly may be longer than your neighbors roof that was torn off and slapped on in a day. If you want it done right give these folks the chance. My house looks great and I look forward to the next rain storm.

THEY DID THE JOB CORRECTLY. IT WAS THE WAY THAT THEY DID THE JOB THAT DIDN'T MAKE US HAPPY. WE THINK THAT THE WORKERS PUT THEMSELVES AT RISK BY BEING ON A ROOF IN DECEMBER, WHEN IT WAS WINDY AND ICY. THEY WERE ALSO HARD TO GET A HOLD OF.
