Amazing! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. From start to finish, everything went seamlessly. They spent time answering all my questions about the contract and proposal. The crew showed up exactly at the time they said. The owner was on the site at the beginning and end of the process. The cleanup was impeccable. I cannot say enough about this company.

Northeast was professional and performed on budget and on-time.  I have used them on 2-3 occasions and am always pleased with their service and professionalism.

Went terrible. The state has to step in to properly perform the remediation. House still stinks of oil. Absolutely no ethics. They don't care if they kill you by leaving toxic materials in your home.

I cannot say enough good things about EVERY aspect of my dealings with Northeast Environmental. The staff - both in the office and on site - are extremely professional, courteous, accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. The paperwork was very clear in the instructions, details, procedure, etc for every part of the process. Their efficiency and punctuality throughout the whole experience was much appreciated. They took care of all the headache work involved, They totally fulfilled all aspects of their contract and made the whole experience a very seamless, painless and actually pleasant experience. I would HIGHLY recommend WITHOUT HESITATION OR RESERVATION using Northeast Environmental.

Courteous and very professional. I have a very old house so it required some delicacy dealing with the buried pipes -not to mention the buried tank, which was at least 45 years old. (It was there when I bought the house.) The backhoe was parked on my brick walkway (the only way they could get it in position to lift the old tank) and I thought there goes the walk! But then I noticed that they had sheathed the plates of the tracks with some kind of covering so that the bricks were unaffected by the weight. The man driving the backhoe was very cautious at all times and, indeed, when he was filling in the hole after the removal and installation of the new tank, moved the scoop back and forth like a whisk broom. I rate the service tops!

I simply can't say enough good about these folks. A previous tank company had dropped the ball, and I had a closing coming up. They came on a saturday, did the entire job in the morning professionally and expeditiously. I never for a second got the feeling that they were trying to rip me off. If you need a tank out of the ground you won't find a better outfit to go with.

I would strongly advise against using Northeast Environmental. The customer service is shockingly bad. They came when they were supposed to and installed the tanks in my basement crawl space without incident. But then they told me they were leaving. There was still an oil tank sitting in front of my house and the bushes and plants were uprooted and scattered around. When I pointed that out the guy shrugged and said there was contamination and I'd have to call the office. So I ran and called the office. The woman there claimed she was about to call me. She said there was contamination and if I pay them they'd fix it. They couldn't tell me the cost - just that the average was $10,000 - 20,000 but they might charge me more (!). When I asked about my plants and the oil tank and the giant hole in my front yard the woman said they were not landscapers. I used another company and it turns out there was minimal impact and it cost me $5,000 to remediate - somehow the other company could give me a concrete cost estimate. And Northeast Environmental refused to take away the tank or replace the plants - work they were contractually obligated to do! Bottom line: This is supposedly a service company but they were rude and surly. And it seems to me that there is incentive for them to find contamination that they can later charge you to fix. Update: I called to ask them for an emailed copy of my paid invoice and they told me they had already mailed me two - I should try to find one of those (!)

"Its unfortunate that you were unhappy. Per the terms of your contract, site restoration was not included. You were issued a refund for the tank disposal, which is why the tank was not picked up. The tank was left on site in case your insurance company wanted to perform any testing. In the past, there have been previous customers who were denied coverage because they insisted on having the tank removed from site."

Based on the excellent reviews Northeast Environmental received on Angie's list and their informative web page, I contacted Northeast Environmental for a ground tank removal in my private home. Although I contacted them by email, I received a call within 24 hours and an appointment was made for Nick to come to my home to give me an estimate and to answer some questions I had about the process. When the date and time arrived, no Nick and no call from Northeast. A call to their offices, after hours, only left me the option of leaving a voice message. The outgoing message stated that they would be unable to pick up messages until the following workday (which was the next day). To date I have not received any calls from Nick nor Northeast Environmental. Needless to say their behavior is totally unprofessional and a a poor indicator of their responsiveness. I would not be able to put my trust in this company in their doing any job for me. This a company that is either not consistent in their delivery of services or their professionalism does not extend beyond their written text.
Response from NORTHEAST ENVIRONMENTAL, INC.

"We are sorry the estimator did not make the appointment. This was a clerical error by a staff member who unexpectedly had a baby early! It was not intentional, and we are sorry you were so affected by this error."

From start to finish the the excavation, removal of old tank and placement of new tank took less than 8 hours. The whole experience with this company was highly professional from the start to finish. The owner, came to the house on the day and time stated and gave me an estimate on a best case scenario and explained in detail what work was going to be performed. He also explained in detail what steps would be taken if any spillage was found. He also gave me a time frame in which the work would be done, and did so in a timely manner..The workers were all there at the time stated and all worked together like a well "oiled" machine,{ no pun intended}.I know that this company had done numerous removals in my village of Pelham Manor and they came highly recommended. I would personally recomend this company, without any reservations, to anyone requiring this type of work,. A job well done!,

They were very understanding and helpful. I started the process over one year ago, lost my job, and then called them back when I became re-employed. They had all the paperwork, and sent me an updated estimate right away. They were also the only company that explained how to obtain and why I needed an environmental certificate. They kept me informed through the whole process, and the day of the dig called me at work with their findings. Even though they found something most unpleasant (which increased the estimate - not their fault), they explained the whole thing. They filled in the hole and counseled me to wait several weeks to let the ground settle before re-paving. I really appreciated how they took the time to explain everything to me.

A salesman named Dwayne Monaco came and gave me an estimate and explained the job. I got a good written estimate which was exactly what I ended up paying. This is a job that is highly regulated by local building and fire departments, in my town, both are involved. The company got all permits, and walked me through the one I needed to apply for myself. The day before the job, the company dropped off the small bulldozer and blocked my car. When I called, they came and moved it right away. On the day of the job, they very quickly dug up the tank and cut it open so they could remove the remaining oil, which was transfered to a holding tank. Then the tank was removed and examined by the city inspector, before being taken away, and the hole refilled. Meanwhile the new tank was installed. My overall experience was good, and everything was done very neatly except for the last step. When they regraded my front lawn, for some reason they dumped a lot of very rough dirt and rocks all over my grass, thus making it necessary for me to replant almost the whole lawn, a much bigger area than where they dug. They also severed an electric line for my in-ground sprinkler, but their contract waives their liability on this. Both ends of the severed line were left exposed so it was easy to rejoin by an electrician. This is a big messy job and a lot can go wrong, but really nothing did. I had quotes from companies who were referred by my fire department and my oil company; both were much more expensive and the companies did not inspire confidence.

Removal and installation work was good, estimate was poor and they misjudged size of tank that could fit in basement. Could have performed work more quickly.
