We have used him for 18 years. I find his prices to be always fair and honest. He is an excellent plumber. He comes right away on the same day you call. I know him, so I just tell him when the house is open to come in. I don't always stay when they are here. They are trustworthy. It is the only plumber we use.
He is very honest. I find him to be very pleasant. I think they are very professional. They have done many things here, and I have never had a problem. They make good decisions. They exceed our expectations in that they look at a situation, they decide what is the most cost effective, and the most successful means to get the problem resolved, and then they do it. We have never had a quarrel with them about their choices. The communication is always in person or on the phone; I don't email them.

They probably saved me $25,000.
In addition to letting me know all the normal areas I would need to bolster, they found that the pipe to the sewer was crushed and blocked by tree roots, and that the cost to repair and reconnect to the town sewer would be $20,000 to $30,000.
I've used them for over 20 years for all my plumbing needs, and trust them as professionals.

Company sold my mother an inferior, off-brand furnace that was underpowered for the house it was installed in, though they did not communicate effectively (part of a pattern) that they charged about $3,000 more for than they should have (as checked out with other plumbing companies). After they installed the furnace, during the Winter, they left without checking it out properly. Of course it wasn't working properly. They had to come back to replace parts on this new device, and ultimately I had to call anohter company to fix the installation after they couldn't fix the shuddering whenever the furnace was on that could be felt throughout the house. The competent people that fixed it also showed us how Chaim Cohen had barely bothered to cover any of the gaps in the venting, and failed to replace a Hepa filter in the venting that was crucial to the system working and we were told was a fire hazard without replacement. After ripping off my mother for thousands of dollars they were unbelievably rude to her and could not be bothered to come quickly during the winter when the product they installed wasn't working and the house was freezing. Meanwhile, the furnace has a digital control they installed in the hallway of the house; they drilled giant ugly holes in the sheetrock much larger than were necessary so that you could see the holes behind it, and they ripped off the sheetrock paper in a larger area behind it. You would expect a professional would paint the wall after they damaged it so obviously. These people didn't didn't even bother to spackle. Little details showing thy don't care are enblematic of what they will do with everything. At the end of the this I really considered suing but it was just too much bother.

See above. We have counted on this company since we first moved to the area and were renters. Now we are owners of an old house and count on them more now. This summer, used the other side of their business to do a complete renovation on a bathroom - including demolition, design, materials, tilework, plumbing. Meticulous work, on time, on budget, nice workers, good communication, great quality. Now we'll ask them to do a second bathroom.

Excellent. Plumber arrived at the house within an hour of phone call.

The answering service was perfunctory and obnoxious, the owner (when he called back a day later) was extremely rude and felt that the information he gave (ie how much he charged to come give an estimate) should suffice and was unwilling to answer any further questions. We will not be using him in the future, even with an emergency and do not recommend this company based upon the behavior and attitude of the owner, as well as the competence of his employee(s).

His workers used a camera to diagnose a leak in an underground sewage pipe. They found "a rock" lodged inside the pipe, and then measured the location of the "rock" by using arm spans when pulling out the camera. Cost for this service: $400. Suggested repair was to replace entire sewage line--a multiple day repair--at a cost of $12,000. Plus whatever it would cost to fix the lawn. So I called the previous owner and found that the same company had previously replaced part of the same line. Chaim had no recollection of this and no records. Another plumber came and repeated camera diagnosis ($300), locating the exact position of the blockage using a tool and determining that it was roots which could be rotoed away. The real problem was diagnosed as a broken joint and a consequent misalignment of two sections of the pipe. The repair cost $1,800 and took a half day, with no lawn repair necessary.

They arrived promptly but workers were not knowledgeable. Chaim had to come multiple times, causing multiple delays to instruct them how to properly identify the leak and then fix it. Then, when they FINALLY found the leak, they improperly installed valves so that we couldn't fix the ceiling, i.e. the valves would jut out of the ceiling. We couldn't get Cohen Plumbing back in to fix the valves, i.e. switch them so that we could have the ceiling patched so had to get another contractor in - who made the repairs and patched the ceiling. Overall - shoddy workmanship, inexperienced staff and too high a cost.

The best plumbers in the area. Very prompt and reliable. A little pricey but worth it to work with people who get the job done and are so reliable and nice to deal with.
