like pulling teeth to get them to do what I needed. They misplaced one
of my AC units and didn't care one bit so I was left feeling very uneasy
about the whole situation until the day of installation when they
showed up with my 2 AC units (after having to send all the copies of
proof that they in fact had picked up 2 - they were insisting that it
was just one and I am glad I held on to my receipts)
This has been a nightmare from the moment they showed up - they sent a man who doesn't work on this type of unit - a split unit where part of the unit (the condensor is outside of the apartment) - so I had to wait again for the right service man/men.
The guys who came found a clog in my drain - they unclogged it. They did not fix the louver - it still sticks. They claimed I had not had the unit professionally cleaned so they strongly recommended it - and since they were already there, I could add on a professional cleaning for a lower price. I agreed - big mistake! Another $300 later, they actually broke my air conditioner! The little door that covers part of the front, underside of the unit was forced off and is now broken. The guy said he'd try to find the part to replace it - in the meantime he taped the door back on. The next day, the door fell off - it happened to be when my son was napping - otherwise, his train table is under that a/c and right where that door dropped and fell.
Coolair said they'd send me an invoice (in the mail) for the work they did - as well as ordering the door they broke. They never called me back, despite my emailing them photos of the part they broke - they never sent an invoice so now my credit card company is having trouble with my dispute because I don't have any invoice from them. How convenient for them!
To top it off, their service guy is sleazy - his boss said to top up our freon on the house (because I had to wait over 6 hours for them to come - because they screwed up - and the guy told me it should be $250 but he'll give it to me for nothing and I should "take care of him" - I gave him $100 and later discovered his boss told him to do it for nothing!
All in all - this has been a horrible experience where I was seriously overcharged - and now have a damaged unit - where the little door will no longer stay on it at all - I ordered a new piece and it won't stay on because the damaged the unit itself.
They have completely stopped returning my phone calls - which is why I am finally leaving this review - I tried very hard to deal with them - before leaving a negative review - they have left me no choice.
Find another air conditioner repair company - DO NOT use these people - you will be sorry!
was told I would probably have it back by Wednesday. On the work order
it says the work will take 3-5 business days. It's now Friday, the 6th
business day, & I still have no word on when I will get my air
conditioner back. All I am told when I phone is that they call when the
air conditioner is ready. I will never use Cool Air again & would
discourage any one else from using them.
"Thanks for reaching out to us. We are happy to respond to [Member name removed] concern. [Member name removed] did call in our office to follow up the ac repair. I believe it was Wednesday but i don't recall the exactly what day it was because It's the heat wave and especially when we are dealing with hundreds of clients every day. We said we will call back after checking the status becasue it's too hot and sometimes it takes little longer than we anticipate. We are in business since 1933 and try our best to accomodate every client within the anticipated 3-5 business days of service to return the ac. We picked up the ac on 6/21/2013 and tried to reach the client on Thrusday to return the Ac on Friday. We could not reach her and [Member name removed] called on Friday and we said it' too late for us to return the AC on Friday because our Techs are already routed and are in the filed. To best accomodate her and not let her without ac for the weekend, we said we could come on saturday 6/29/2013 (even though we were off but work only for emergency calls on Saturdays). She said she will check with the building and then called back to confirm, Yes we could deliver it back on saturday. We returned the Ac and That's all folks. Nothing else. I don't see any reason behind why [Member name removed] is so aggravated about this even though we accomodated her nicely and returned her air conditioner. Every year we serve thousands of clients in NYC area and as of today, this year we have served 4317 clients in NYC. This is the first time we are getting a complaint for no real obvious reason. Anyway everybody has the right to express their concern. We are providing first class professional service to our clientle and any negative review that harms our buisness is taken seriously. Thank you very much, Veer 7/9/2013"
