The work was done in a co-op which is a challenge in itself. The work was started as planned. The workers were prompt and cordial. They tried to be as clean as possible. There were a few hiccups along the way but was quickly fixed. Be sure to be clear on what you want done. There was a few overruns which is to be expected. In the middle of the project there was a 3 week delay to no fault of their own. Joe the son was very patient and understood. When they could resume work it was at a slower pace understandably. All in all I am very pleased with the work.

Great, House raise went smooth and was completed in time. Dave is a man of his word.

At first all was fine. Workmen were courteous and kept the property clean. When finished the job looked great. They offer lifetime warranty on equipment and labor which was a comfort to us. We chose them despite having lower quotes based on a referral from a relative and that warranty.

9 years later, they are ignoring our calls. We had to have a section of siding removed due to improper flashing which caused a leak during a heavy rain that damaged an interior ceiling. We didn't even call them for that repair (though ceiling is still damaged) because we did not know their workmanship was the cause until the roofer that we hired to fix the leak explained it to us.

We did begin calling several months ago because a different section of siding fell off the side of our house on a calm and sunny day. It is only one single length of siding...a minor repair, assuming that the cause does not turn out to be another example of shoddy workmanship that requires additional work. We have now called 4 times in the past several months. Each time the response has been that they are busy with post-Sandy repairs but will call us back soon. 4 months have gone by with no returned calls. The receptionist is polite and friendly enough, but nobody returns our calls, and I want the repair done before winter sets in.

I am also now wondering why I had to pay $800 to repair the shoddy flashing workmanship that caused the leak, and now face a repair bill for the damaged interior ceiling caused by that leak.

UPDATE: On Nov 15 an employee arrived and took the fallen siding to their shop yo match it. In theory they will be back soon with a good match to finally repair this problem. I will continue to update.

Salesman Dennis came to house gave a bid we contracted with him. meet a bunch of new contractors they were using they told us everything you want to hear. They started the job in the middle of snow storm things took a little longer because of weather. I had a father who was going through open heart surgery in ca and had to be gone. When I came home the job was completed but they didnot fix any of the problems. 1. Granite counter tops were installed cracked. 2. Fireplace was missing glass 3. Gutters in the back were facing into the house. 4. Electric outlet in kitchen is loose and not straight . I called Dave the owner numerous times set him text messages with pictures not one phone call back. This company took advantage received total payment and disappeared. Everyday I look at my kitchen I cannot believe this company did not make it right. I would not recommend this company db I had to call myself the place where the counter tops came from and they tried to fix the problem but to no avail. We spent all that money for my dream kitchen yet all I see is the cracks in the granite.....if you use this companies be specific in your contract . I had to pay another company to fix some of my problems. The granite is still cracked and Dave the owner is yet to call back.

From first depost in May to the Nov completion. Each phase required a specialist,architect,foundation,framing,plumbing,electrical,roofing,siding,carpentry,tile installer and outside stone mason.All coordinated by a professional owner and his son. Did not expect that many contractors for such a small addition and thought it contributed to the very long completion time.

Everyone has been very responsive to me throughout the project. They are always quick to respond to my phone calls. The project has taken a long time, however there have been a lot of inspections and things like that. The workers are all very neat and they do a nice job. Everyone is one hundred percent professional. I have been very pleased with all of the aspects of the project. They are definitely not cheap, however I have felt that the work is worth the price. I feel that I am getting the quality that I am paying for. I will definitely use them again in the future.

The job was performed well at the time but years later the front bay window began to sag,won't close completely and Carstan doesn't return my calls.

The Carstan representatives checked the job all along the process of replacement and construction. The Hingle family carpenters did an excellent job under very harsh weather conditions, snow, ice, and heavy winds. We're delighted that we used Carstan.

This is the second time I have used Carstan and I can't say enough good things about them. Every question and concern I had about the project was addressed to my satisfaction by either Mike, the supervisor or the owner, Dave, and they did excellent work for me. The most recent project involved gutting my ONLY bathroom under severe time constraints, and it was started and completed beautifully exactly when they promised it would be. Everyone who worked on my bathroom was neat, professional, and punctual. Mike took care of us and did an outstanding job choreographing each crew of craftsmen so that every phase of the construction went swiftly and seamlessly. I originally thought the cost was a bit high, but what price can you put on a high quality of customer service, being treated respectfully and fairly, and not having to be worried about being taken for a ride? I will definitely use Carstan again.

THEY ARE EXCELLENT AT THEIR WORK. I HAD THEM COME BACK TWICE ALREADY FOR OTHER WORK. I WOULD RECCOMEND THEM TO ANYONE WHO WOULD NEED SIDING DONE TO THEIR HOME.

THE COMPANY DID A VERY GOOD JOB. WE WERE VERY HAPPY WITH THE WORK THAT WAS DONE. THERE WAS NO PROBLEMS WITH THE WORKMANSHIP. THE EXTENSION LOOKS GREAT!

CARSTAN WAS A GREAT COMPANY TO USE DUE TO THE CUSTOMER SERVICE! THEY ARE AN EFFICIENT COMPANY THAT KEEPS YOU VERY INFORMATIVE ON WHAT IS GOING ON! PLUS THE WORKERS WERE RESPECTFUL!
