We communicated with him our deadlines for each project at the point of sale, and continued to update him as the home was built. Frank does beautiful wood-working, however he is terrible at communicating, time management and most of all, ethics. He took full payment in advance for the butcher block and a half deposit for the rest in June. Then he said he was opening a new warehouse and needed money, so requested the remainder of the contract price in exchange for a small discount. We should have known better, but did write him another check. As we began the drywall phase, we updated Frank on what was needed and when, and the excuses and delays started to pile up, along with emails/calls/texts that went unanswered until we had to repeatedly call him over and over to get a vague response. Repeated deadlines missed, until it held up the completion and closing of our home! Very upsetting to be delayed by one contractor. After we were forced to become more stern with Frank, he finally came through and provided the window seats and built-ins which were gorgeous. As I said, his work is beautiful. However, at this point we could not wait any longer for the countertop and cubbies without delaying the finishing of our home, and let him know we would be requiring a refund so we could purchase those elsewhere. He promised to review everything with us, but of course never did. I still wanted the dining room table, which after repeated calls/emails/texts he finally provided, however the chairs were not given. We requested a refund for those also which has gone unanswered. We have had to pay out of pocket for the replacement countertop, cubbies and dining room chairs, and Frank has ceased any contact with us despite several emails asking for an update on our refund. It is the end of November 2017. He owes us over $5300 (on the conservative side, should be more) and have had to take legal action against him. Luckily, we have saved screenshots, emails and conversations had with Frank so we have plenty of evidence to prove his negligence.Stay far away, the stress of working with Frank Crowe is not worth any piece of furniture.
