FOLSOM'S FLOWER SHOP

A simple valentines flower order for a good friend was needlessly complicated and screwed up. i ordered form the florists website early in the day and put in all the correct information. i got a confirmation about a 1/2 hour later and thought i was all set. well the florist called my phone later that night. "we just got to your order and we dont have the vase you ordered we have the same vase but its not red its clear. we could substitute it but you need to call us. btw we close in a few min so you need to call soon" now i was on a flight and i know that they cant help that, but it is valentines day and you would think they would have the valentines items they advertise... also you would think they could figure out they dident have them a bit sooner than right before they closed. at the very least i would expect them to understand it is valentines day and i dident call them back and they should probably deliver something! i would not have been angry in the slightest if the vase was a different color but i understand their hesitation. at that point in the service industry you need to think of your reputation and the meaning of the service you are providing. they should have sent flowers and dealt with the screw up later. however im not an angry guy so when i called the next day and found out they dident deliver flowers i was not really mad. i said hey its not a big deal mistakes happen. just send her something and tell your delivery guy to apoligise and say they were supposed to be there yesterday. the florist refused and said it would make them look bad. he said it wasent their fault because when i ordered i should have specified a second acceptable arrangement to send. he would not do anything to help me out but offer to add an extra flower into the INCORRECT vase and deliver them for full price a day late. if it was me i would be embarrassed at the ruined holiday of a client.
