 + 2 moreThe original door and frame was removed quickly and the replacement footer was put in place. When installing the new door/frame it was discovered that the new frame was 3/4 in. larger than the previous frame. The old door was reinstalled (slightly damaged from the removal) and the replacement was rescheduled for the following week. Upon return to the job the replacement door was installed. During installation inside of the metal door was gouged and permanently damaged. The footer (now 3/4 in. short) was never replaced with a longer footer, leaving the door hanging over one side 3/4 in. and looking off-center. Related to this, the top J-Channel (vinyl siding) was 3/4 in. short, channeling water directly into the door. The contractor stated the J-Channel would be replaced, but would take some time, as he needed to order a piece to match the color. The J-Channel was never replaced and calls not returned. The gouge in the door was never repaired.
Description of Work: Work to be performed consisted of removal of existing front door, frame and sidelights and replacing with customer provided door/sidelights. In addition to this, the bottom support beam was to be removed and replaced with customer supplied pressure-treated footer.
