It was a nightmare!  The owner of Bay Builders, Inc., became every homeowners nightmare to work with.   FIrst of all, a 4-5 month job..."TOPS"  was still not completed by Jan. 2010 and since he continued to tell untruths & make excuses, to date he is not working here - however 50% +/- still not finished & what was finished is sub-par.   He rarely (<5x) showed up on site (& that was ONLY by insistence!!) regardless of repeated phone calls to do so.  He would almost never answer his phone - instead he would send texts, often late at night & filled with promises, excuses and insults...especially when caught in a lie which was often, if not daily.  Wouldn't show up for weeks & weeks at a time to do work...and then try & blame it on me.  Found out later that suppliers would only provide building supplies 'CASH & CARRY' and  most sub-contractors wouldn't work for him for too long because he'd refuse to pay them. He would say one thing and do another.  He failed to pull proper permits (ie: electrical and plumbing).  Have since had electric inspector to my house and all FAILED, claiming no inspection could have been done let alone passed.  Have had building inspector to my house too...was told workmanship was sub-par. Hired non-professionals to do the work...basically handymen.  Lied about following material warrantys for installs (ie: deck, siding, ...) so when manufacturers came to the house to warranty their products, they failed for acutely sub-par installation, which was referred by one company as '1st week trades-student' quality. Caused damages but refused to be accountable.

Rec'd phone calls from at least 2 other homeowners asking if I was having problems with him too as their issues were equal and in one case, sadly...far, far worse than mine.

I reported him to the BBB and along with several others, reported him to the NYS Attorney General's Office Consumer Fraud Division.  He has since declared bankruptcy so he didn't have to be financially responsible to homeowners. However, he has 'reopened' under the same name, but is now out of Syracuse, NY instead of Liverpool, NY.

All I can say is DO NOT hire this company or the owner/president of Bay Builders to do anything!!!
