DIAL-A-SEWER MAN INC

I am still wiating for several items.
1) The credit card company is continuing down their path
2) I called the sewer company again and asked to speak with the manager/ owner - we will see if he gets back to me
3) I am filing a claim with small claims court about the damaged items

Dealing with Dial-a-Sewer-Man was a costly disaster from start to finish. We had sewer back-ups about twice a year because of roots in a cracked sewer line leading from our house to the street. So we signed up for Dial-a-Sewer-Man's regular root cleaning service. But we still had back-ups in the basement. Then they talked us into several so-called "jet" cleaning services for thousands of dollars. They didn't work. Finally, they told us we needed a vinyl liner for the sewer, for many thousands more dollars. After numerous attempts to get the liner in place, they finally declared that the liner was properly fitted out to the street, and that we wouldn't have any more problems. We had a back-up in the basement within a few months. Dial-a-Sewer-Man blamed the Town of North Hempstead for the problem, saying that the Town's sewer line was responsible. So we called the Town. When several inspectors came to see what was going on, they found no problem in the street. I called Dial-a-Sewer-Man while the Town inspectors were here. One of the owners (who we had just been told was in California!) suddenly arrived, determined that the "liner" actually stopped in the middle of our lawn, and told his men to dig up the lawn and replace the sewer line, which was about 9 feet underground. Two days later, when the men were were finished, they just dumped the dirt on top of the new sewer line. Looking back, we can't believe how naiive we were in agreeing to this succession of more expensive "solutions." Dial-a-Sewer-Man is the worst company we have ever dealt with in all the years we have owned our home.

After the $1200 ripoff, the water is running for now.

They were much more interested in getting my credit card payment over and done with before they went to the basement, using very dubious methods, and when one of the guys opened the pipe in the basement, he left it open so that the water would start flooding the basement (keep in mind I had no water at all before he did that, THE FLOOR WAS BONE DRY!)...first he said the job would be $2000, then it became $2500, then it was $2900+...a 45 MINUTE JOB! He showed me an aerosol can of something to justify the additional $500. And after they left I found several of my collectibles missing from the basement where they were. About 4-5 guys showed up for this. I tried to fight the bill, but because I signed the credit card statement my cc company said it had to stand.

I HAD TO TAKE THEM TO COURT BECAUSE I ORIGINALLY HAD THEM CLEAN OUT MY PIPES AND THEN WHEN IT RAINED I HAD A BIG FLOOD. THE SERVICEMEN WHERE CUSSING AT ME AND TELLING ME I HAD TO PAY CASH UP FRONT. IT WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER ENDURED.

I AM PLEASED WITH DIAL-A-SEWER MAN BECAUSE THEY CAME, DID THEIR JOB, AND LEFT. MY SEWER SYSTEM HAS BEEN WORKING FINE, AND I HAVE HAD NO CLOGGED DRAINS SINCE THEN.

I HAD AN EMERGENCY AND DIAL A SEWER MAN RESPONDED TO MY CALL IN A TIMELY MANNER. THEY CLEANED UP THE MESS AND FIX THE PROBLEM. I WAS SO GRATEFUL FOR THE HELP I RECEIVED FROM THIS COMPANY.

WELL THEY GOT IT OPEN AND WE HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH SLOW DRAINAGE SINCE. I WAS MOST HAPPY WITH HOW QUICKLY THEY CAME OUT, ALSO THE PERSON WHO DID THE WORK WAS CAREFUL ABOUT NOT MAKING ANY MESSES.

THEY ARE A RIP OFF. I PAID $500 FOR A CONTRACT AND $80 A YEAR FOR CLEANING. THEN THEY WANTED $500 FOR CLEANING BECAUSE THEY SAID THE LINE WAS BROKE. THEY WANTED $9200 TO FIX IT. I FOUND OUT IT WASN'T BROKEN. I WOULD NOT USE THEM AGAIN.
