Terrible. I did my research on the part he replaced and the valve was $90-$150 dollars. I was overcharged by $420 dollars. Never again. I got ripped off by this company. I will be taking them to small claims court to get my $420 dollars back. The job took 20 minutes to complete and replace the valve. Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Below is a picture of the valve that he replaced. That was all he did for $650 dollars. During our conversation, he said he was a honest man (yeah right). I requested a detailed receipt from him and they failed to provide it to me. He never gave me a written estimate neither.
Description of Work: I needed work done to my heating system. The only thing that needed to be done was to change a valve. He said the valve and labor was 650. He said the had to change the whole bottom system to the furnace and that it would take all day.

The technician (young guy) came out and inspected everything, he was pretty breezy about it, said he was in the process of having a house built and that "bigger is always better" when it comes to heat pumps, and that if the units were oversized, the wood floors would be buckling. Not knowing much about HVAC, I trusted what he was saying, and we purchased the house. Fast forward to now, when the weather is warm and the house needs to be cooled. Well, guess what? The A/C comes on and cycles for 3 minutes, then shuts off (short cycling, due to the units being OVERSIZED). The temp on the thermostat is reached quickly, but because the units are oversized, they don't run long enough to remove the humidity in the house. The relative humidity levels in the house hover in the 50-55% range, very uncomfortable. There is no other option than to lay out thousands of dollars for a whole new system, one that is properly sized for the house - I would have probably passed on this house if G&S had properly diagnosed that this system is indeed way too big for this house.
Description of Work: We were under contract on a house and called G&S to come out and inspect our heat pumps, as our home inspector noted that the heat pumps were way too oversized, and that that would probably cause problems. Before moving forward with the home purchase, I wanted to make absolutely sure that the units were sized properly for the house, as the larger one, a 3.5 ton, is only 2 years old. I called G&S and told them exactly what the home inspector noted and that I wanted someone knowledgable with proper sizing to come out and check the system.
