"Thank you so much, it was a pleasure working with you! Have a great holiday season and know that we are just a phone call away if you ever need anything!"
"Your version of these events is vastly different than what happened. On the day we were supposed to go to your house and give you an estimate, our technician called you just to get a little more information. The reason we do this is to save the customer the cost of a service call. He then called me, saying that you were so rude and nasty to him that he didn't even feel comfortable going to your house. When I called you to verify what my technician was telling me, you were beyond rude to me. After being in business for over 22 years, I have the luxury of picking and choosing who I do work for. I told you if you were unhappy to call someone else, because I will not subject my employees to that kind of behavior. It seems my decision to not do work with you was a good one, as after a 2 minute phone conversation this is your reaction."
Everything was okay, until they handed me a service bill for $180.00.I told them that it was not fair to charge me for a one year warranteed outlet that stopped working. In my opinion, an outdoor GFI outlet and casing should be able to withstand dirt, bugs and rain.I mentioned that this was an Angie's List deal from last year and my expectation was that it would be replaced at no charge, as it was defective.
He called the boss Russell, who told him to leave the bill with me and write down my phone number so he and I could discuss it later. I wasn't sure what Russell's reaction would be, so I was VERY pleasantly surprised at his warm, understanding and flexible attitude. He was very nice right from the start of the conversation.
After clarifying that I have been having this problem for months, and explaining my point of view, Russell told me to forget about the bill. He laughingly said, "Well, maybe one day you will have a mansion that needs electrical work".
I own and run a business and have learned a lot of do's and dont's.Russell did the most important thing to do in order to have a successful business - he provided good customer service.Thank you Russell and ABSOLUTE ELECTRICAL SERVICES.
"I spoke to the homeowner over the holiday weekend. They explained to me they had work performed without a permit and needed a licensed electrician to inspect existing work. The area involved was the basement, and was told they feel service is dangerous. They were told IN ADVANCE, BY ME, this is the charge for the basement ALONE. An addl fee was to be paid to file a permit for inspection. My electrical license is valid in all towns of Nassau county. She was told there would be an addl fee for Incorporated Village of Floral Park license fee, as well as Electrical Inspection fee after violations, if any, were repaired. The men called in at 12:30 pm to report their arrival. At 1:15 they left. While it is true they didn't inspect the whole house, they concentrated on the basement area to get a writeup of violations existing, and service inspection. The main service was rusted and unstrapped. They were directed by the homeowner onsite and did as requested. A report of violations was written and handed to the owner, and owner didn't direct them anywhere else. They did not ask for a "Christmas lighting " estimate, and we don't offer it freely as not to insult anyones religious beliefs. The owner did call Kate, and as per company policy she gave an instant full refund even though we fulfilled our obligation of what the customer requested. The customer received services as requested, and promised not to leave a bad review in exchange of a refund. In receiving thier refund and write up of basement violations, they still left a bad review, even though my men did exactly as they were told, and nothing more. People join Angies List to see reviews to help them decide the best contractor for the job. Sometimes they would like a contractor that has been around 20 years (like myself). People also know no one is perfect, and I would rather give a refund than argue. That is why I have been around 20 years, and the customers invoice number was 27,807! So with that amount of work its not unusual to have conflict. Happy holidays to all, and thank you for your continued support. Russell Castaldo, owner."
"I am sorry you feel this way, however we never received any phone calls. We would like to fix this and take care of it for you, if you would please email us directly or call us at your earliest convenience we would be glad to do all we can to assure you get the product, quality and service that we are known for."
"I have had several conversations with Mr [member name removed]. As I have explained to him exhaustively, we do not send men out to put tools on and troubleshoot for FREE. Estimates are free, service is not. He was told to buy the parts needed for the return trip to repair his fan, and apparently he doesn't understand more work equals more money. As for my company demanding cash from him is a lie. His bill was emailed and itemized, as well as an estimate to eliminate remote and run wires, or replace his remote. He chose to just complain that I wont fix it free with no expense whatsoever to himself. He needs new fan controls or an additional switchline with a new fan. The wiring is tested and in good working order as the service call indicated. job is complete, and closed. My men spent over 2 hours with him. He got more than his moneys worth at this point. Unfortunately I cant please everyone, and its too bad he chose my company to vent his subliminal anger. We did everything he requested at the time of visit, and paid willingly without question. He also understood an additional visit was required so I really don't know how it progressed to this point."
