Description of Work: Work done by Mark Kruegler on our bathroom remodel was substandard and incomplete. The subfloor he installed was unstable and the grout and tile cracked repeatedly over the next six months. He attempted to repair the floor three times unsuccessfully and then took our last box of tile and never came back. I have had two contractors look at the bathroom floor and they have indicated that the floor is not repairable--that a new subfloor and replacement tile is needed. Additionally, the pocket door installation was faulty and was never trimmed out. He never put the cabinet hardware on, hung the towel bars, or installed a threshold from the bedroom into the bathroom. Our calls were not returned after he told me, when questioned, that he had our remaining tile (which we purchased at a local store) in his shed.

 + -1 moreThe wall board work was average and therefore acceptable. But the price was considerably higher than guidelines from the internet suggested . Also, after finishing and being paid for the wallboard work, Mark expressed interest when I said I needed a certain tree taken down and agreed to get back to me with an estimate but never did. Although he'd been very responsive to emails PRIOR to receiving payment, he did not reply to further emails. This would indicate, of course, that he really wasn't interested in tree work after all. That much was OK with us but I wasted a couple of weeks waiting for his estimate.

 + -1 morepros: He arrived on time and worked quickly cons: Took no pride in his work and was obviously in a rush to get it done and get on to the next thing. We were very clear that we wanted the composite to fully cover the stairs. He pretended not to have understood this, and just nailed composite over the treads, leaving the risers and sides exposed. The deck is not fully level and creates an unsafe condition. When we politely explained that we were dissatisfied, his attitude was -- too bad. At the time, he must have had enough first-timers that he did not feel he needed any repeat business. We explained that he should reduce the price since he did not perform the work as expected. He didn't like that one bit and became quite rude. Save your money and hire someone with a work ethic!
Description of Work: Mark installed a small composite deck in my backyard and installed composite decking over concrete stairs.
