COUNTRYWIDE HOME LOANS

Overall it was an excellent, stress free experience for our first home purchase. Everything that could have been done to make us feel more at ease was done. We were kept within our means and not talked into a home that was out of our comfort zone. Other mortgage companies we investigated prior to going with Countrywide were more than willing to help us secure a home mortgage that was 4x what we knew we could afford comfortably, but were approved for. A few of the other companies were so busy securing homes in the 700k - 800k range, they seemed not very interested in our 200k purchase. One company even shuffled us off to one of the other agents in the company by way of not showing for an appointment and dismissing us to the other agent while we were in the lobby waiting for her arrival. Our countrywide agent/manager dealt with us one on one on several occasions and kept in contact during the whole process. He took all of our phone calls when we had "first time homebuyer" questions and kept things simple and easy to understand. Most importantly, through patience and knowledge of the market, he was able to secure us a 4.875% fixed rate loan in the end (to the envy of all our friends and coworkers). Excellent experience overall.
