Buildings Work Contracting

It was a somewhat difficult job because we live in a co-op building and one wall of the bathroom faces the interior hallway. To remove the cement behind the old tiles, they had to be extremely careful not to damage the hallway wall otherwise we as the owners can face penalties.  This is why you need to hire a professional licensed and insured contractor like Building Work Inc. (owner - Michael Dick).  Once the challenging part was done, everything went smoothly after that.

Dick is an excellent contractor. he is a self starter who undertakes a project carefully from start to finish. He is informed about preliminary permits.

Workers came when they promised and did the job over 2 days. They were clean, neat and did a fine job.

Responsive, conscientious and reliable! Work was detailed and finished it beautifully. Would use them again without hesitation!

Timelines were met, the team was able to change course quickly if required, and they followed the co-op bylaws, and kept the public areas really clean. It was a respectful, reliable, high quality team of people to work with.

They also respected (and spoiled) my dog, who toward the end of the work, when I moved back in, was there every day. They were also very considerate of my personal needs of order, cleanliness and good neighbor relations. When the work was done - they cleaned up every day, and made sure there was no debris in the hallways, or anything any one could complain about.

We all know that renovating in New York can be quite tricky and they were able to meet proof of insurance requirements, they were educated about permits, garbage removal etc. that might pertain only to New York residents.

I had no problems at all with my neighbors, or super during this process. No noise or dirt complaints. Even when tools were left in my place at night - they were cleaned and tucked away so that I could resume normal life as best as possible.

I am super happy with the work done and highly recommend this company for any renovation project.
My interaction with Michael Dick, the owner, and this group was superb, and I felt that I was working with people of integrity. Almost like a family to me. Michael is on-site almost every day or at least in contact by phone to make sure the work is being carried out as expected.

I highly recommend Building Works, and Michael Dick - most of my New York friends have contractor horror stories, but I do not.
My place is great, and I am happy every day.
