Snyder Repair Shop

After waiting an hour and 1/2 for an oil change, and paying 2 times the cost of normal places. and a recommendation of replacing the oil filter,  the "change oil" light in my car wouldn't turn off.  I reset the system, tried other things, etc, nothing worked.  I called our local Ford dealership, they said it sounded like the oil filter needed to be replaced.  I took it in, and after waiting a 1/2hr, yes indeed, the filter was so filthy, the car didn't recognize that the oil had been changed.  Needless to say, I won't be going back to Snyder's.  I was sad to come to this conclusion but this was my second visit, both times taking well over an hour to be completed. 
I'm trying to patron small businesses, they had decent reviews on here, but they take too long, are too expensive, and don't take the initiative to complete simple tasks like changing a filthy oil filter.  (No one even came to ask if I would like this done.)  At least at the dealership I got an oil change, new filter, fluids topped off, tires rotated, all for $40.

Art Snyder is an excellent mechanic. We have been using his services for several years and he is always thorough, precise and prompt. I trust him completely and I would never use anyone else.

Art is extremely knowledgeable, analytical, and able to diagnose and explain auto problems and mechanics in a manner that anyone can understand. He provides multiple options when possible, and recommends the solutions for the best value.

He's always pleasant to work with and has provided advice over the phone on multiple occasions. We've sent many of our friends to him for service when their regular mechanics couldn't fix their problems. Art Snyder could always diagnose and fix the problems. We have the highest regard for him and his service.

We've moved on, trying to save money, but we're not sure we're better off. We went to Art Snyder for years, especially when my wife had a used Mercedes. On that and other vehicles, Art always did top notch work we could count on. We thought he was a bit pricey but scrupulously honest, and that's worth a lot. His shop is a very friendly place, and he did the work when he said he would.

He's a bit out of the way, but we recommend him to our friends. If you must wait there for your car, the waiting area is very bright and pleasant.

He's been fixing our cars for years. He's fixed all sorts of cars and trucks. He has a very nice waiting area. I think there's snacks and coffee. This is the auto shop we've used forever. He's very honest and he's very competent. He does very good and he's very conscientious about it.
