Everything went well, the bathroom looks real good, and I'm very pleased.  Work on the floor was not originally planned, but when the toilet was removed, a badly deteriorated floor was revealed.  The were several layers of flooring to be ripped up and replaced, and this added considerably to the cost of this project.  Mike Bussa and his men spent more time dealing with the floor than everything else combined.  The entire project took about 1 1/2 days.

I chose the items I wanted for the bathroom from Home Depot, and Mike took care of ordering them and picking them up.  Mike noticed damage to the light fixture when he picked it up, and arranged for a replacement to be overnighted so as not to delay the start of the project.   I just took care of shopping for the new faucet.

Mike is great to work with, and his pricing is very reasonable.  He is very good on communicating the status of the project and keeping me abreast of any issues.  Clean-up at the end of both days was very thorough.

These folks came recommended to me by Dutchess Awning. I spoke with Mike on the phone and then sent a description of the work I wanted done including photos via email, as requested, but he never got back. This is one of the aggravating things about dealing with contractors; they want to "cherry pick" jobs and leave you hanging with no further communication if they don't want to do the work, causing you to waste time as you await a response. I've moved on, as it were, and found someone else, but not through Angie's list.

Things went very well. Mike picked up a new shower door I had purchased at nearby store. The crew got right to work at 8am, and in no time the old ugly tiles were gone. I found out that my bathroom walls were not exactly vertical, which created some alignment problems, especially with the shower door. Mike also had some defects with the shower panels he had purchased, which required him to make extra trips to the store and caused some delay in the work, so that a parital second day was required. All debris was completely removed, and the house was actually left cleaner than when they arrived. After the job was completed, Mike came back to tweek the shower door alignment.
Mike also patched a hole in the living room wall, where an old air conditioner had been. This was quickly and professionally completed.

My basement was partially finished and after a water leak it was a mess. Mike helped work with the insurance company and managed to persuade them to cover more than they originally offered. He worked through a detailed list of the work that was needed and made some very constructive suggestions on things we could do. Keeping the price reasonable was important to me and he helped keep the price in line. He did offer upgrades but once we said no that was the end of it. They framed and sheet rocked the basement to our plan. The electrician light the place up and was even able to help with putting data and phone connections in. They installed cabinets and a sink unit. One of Mike's suggestions was to turn an alcove into a space for a dartboard. He also installed bookshelves into places to make better use of space. They were very professional and did everything they could to keep out of our way. We now have a great place for storage and for my 10 year old son and me to hangout.

Mike took care of permits and kept us informed as to progress. The work went quickly and expertly. We listened to Mike's suggestions and recommendations and the end result was a finished basement which exceeded our expectations. We would not hesitate to hire MLB Inc should a future need arise.
