"My company was called to install various electrical outlets in the home ,we found many live buried wires in the renovation,all outlets we installed matched existing outlet height ,we corrected most of the problems until we discovered an underlying and very dangerous condition . there was a dangerous back feed on the grounding jacket on the armored cable after further investigation we found a bathroom that was renovated by an unlicensed handy man hired from Angie's List that also did electrical work a renovation that was done illegally with no permits. after further investigation we found six buried junction box's in the walls and ceilings we realized then there was a lot of work that needed to be done . i gave an estimate of 2,000 dollars to fix the problems and install new dedicated circuits to the bathrooms and second floor ,i was 600 dollars over on my man hours and material,i did split the difference with the homeowner which he failed to mention. this customer . i completed my repairs and brought in a licensed electrical inspector to cover all the work that i performed. we are a legitimate company and value all customers no matter the size of the job. it is clear to me that based on the previous work that was done to this house and the customers practice of using unlicensed contractors and not getting permits for jobs being done in the house ,that they would rather sacrifice safety instead of doing the job right . my prices are fair and were based on time and material. as far as getting paid it took several months and many emails to get paid,this is probably standard procedure for a customer who uses unlicensed contractors. i don't have any of the nasty emails the customer sent me. I feel this customer is a predator and was caught off guard by a legitimate contractor. i would Advise any contractor to steer clear of this customer. Respectfully, Chris Weigert"
