LONG Review - Please read before considering Window World! Look at my pictures! If one branch of Window World is willing to cut these corners, what's to say all of them won't do the exact same to your house? I hired Window World of Binghamton in early 2022, to replace 18 windows around my home. No small task, and definitely not a small bill, being north of 15 thousand said and done. They came out to install in mid-late 2022, about 5-6 months ago. Crew were polite and friendly, and cleaned up most of the mess they made. They had left some of the old wooden frame pieces, nails included, scattered about my yard and driveway, but things happen, not the end of the world. They seemed to work very efficiently, and not once came to me with any issues. We noticed some leftover glue residue on some of the windows, imperfections in the caulking, silly little things like that. None of which I would ever consider big deals, or warrant a negative review. At that point, I would've gave Window World a 9.5/10 review, and kind of glad I had forgotten to do so. Last week I had some roofers out to replace the roof on my house. In the process of doing so, they had to undo the window flashing to install the new roof, since two of the windows sit practically on the roof line of the back dormer. Upon doing so, they discovered a completely rotted window frame, and came to get me to go up on the roof. At that point I had them un-do the second window, and watched another rotted frame exposed right in front of me. This is when the photos were taken, you can see the contractors hands holding the flashing still. As you can see in the photos, the wood is completely rotted through, and clearly has been that way for awhile. You can see the previous owners had at one point covered the rotting wood in some roofing material themselves, so there's no argument that the wood wasn't this way when they installed the window. I do believe this is the very last window they installed that day, so I can imagine it was a hurry up, let's get home, they'll never know type thing. I spoke with WW of Binghamton the next business day, initially asking them their process on discovering rotted wood during replacement window install. They confirmed their process was such that the rot would be cut out and replaced with fresh wood, or if the damage was bad enough, they would re-frame the window. After confirming this is when I raised my concern and anger about the situation, considering I just discovered quite possibly the most rotted wood I'll see on a house. They agreed to send a service guy out ASAP. Service guy came today. Extremely nice fellow, absolutely no qualms with him or what he did, but we basically just chatted about the situation. No real inspection of any windows. I am now left back in the same position I was upon discovering the rot. No real answers. While I do agree the window that is pictured does sit on an area of the house that is prone to this type of issue, meaning lack of sunlight and dampness, how can I rest assured that the 17 other windows they replaced don't look the exact same way? They may not be prone to the same type of damage, but the house is old, and if they were willing to cover up that bad of rot on one window, what do the rest look like. Overall, now I'd give Window World a 1/10. I feel I've been robbed of over $15,000, and have a house full of windows that I just picture are waiting to completely rot away and fall out in 6 months. The 1 only being because the windows and materials they used are definitely very nice. Zero issues with the product itself. The company, however, I would avoid like the plague. Go with Andersen or Pella, hopefully they have honest installation crews and you'll avoid this massive headache I've found myself in.

It did not go well. The installation took a half dozen visits to get finished. They started with doors that were wrong. They hurried the installation due to an approaching storm, having to return to recaulk the windows. After the doors were installed I was left with the molding to finish on my own. I have had several Windows developed leaks around them after the installation damaging my floors. The owner has been condescending and unprofessional in handling this situation. He tried to blame the leaks on my"old" home. I have taken pictures to prove otherwise. The leaks that have damaged my flooring are from a lousy window installation job. He turned to the repairs over to his insurance company. The insurance adjuster seems to think these leaks were caused by their installation as well. I would not do business with Mr Hoffmeier or his company again. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact me at [email protected].

The installers were excellent. We were pleased with the initial experience with Window World, but our expectations were more than exceeded by the team of two that came to our house and installed the new bay window and replaced the other existing windows. Hats off to the installation team. Excellent experience overall!

Arrived on time for free estimate.  It took about five weeks for the custom windows to be manufactured. Arrived on time for installation.  Completed job in two days.  Windows are well designed (tip in for cleaning, great for second and third floor.)  Neat and effective caulking, no draft around the windows, important for cold winter.  Careful around floor and furniture ( you have to remove window treatments and clear the area around windows for them to work.)  Cleaned up all their debris as well as old windows and hauled it off.  Pleasant salesman and installers.  They're replacing another 11 windows this summer!

The price was the cheapest amount the three quotes we obtained and the
windows were custom made.  One of the other companies wanted more money
and were talking about having to re-frame the opening to accommodate a
smaller window.  The salesman was knowledgeable, friendly, and available
for questions outside of the home visit.  The actual workers were clean,
polite, and they walked us through each step of the installation.  We did have to wait 2 months from signing the contract to installation, but that's because the windows were custom made to our selections.  They told us up front that it would take this long.  I was
very happy with the service and I LOVE my new windows.  No more drafts!

They came out and gave us an estimate and did their very best to fit us in before tax credit was over. The estimate was fair. We were unable to put in windows they advertise because to get tax credit we needed one with higher savings on energy. They came in December to place windows in and arrived around 9am. They were done at 12noon and the windows are awesome. One slight problem with the large picture window but they ordered the part and were back with in a week to finish that. The savings on fuel has been much higher then we hoped for. Best part is when I have to write those checks to NYSEG and they are much much lower. We will be doing the top floor this year and will call them again.

We had a really good experience with them.  The price was pretty good.  We really liked the outcome of the windows; they look nice.  They have a lifetime warranty on the windows, which we like too.  If we ever break one of them, they would replace it at no extra cost, which is one of the reasons why we went with them.  I liked them.  I recommended them to a friend; they used them as well and were happy.

Response from Window World of Binghamton
"Unsure why window world receives an F for this job? The only aspect about the job was that the workers were independent contractors. Window world believes in great hiring practices whether or not the installers are employees or subcontractors. These installers are held to the highest standards. It is about the management of these workers, that truly determines the quality of work. Apparently this standard was held, since there are no complaints with the job. Window World feels that the assessment of a "F" grade is not substantiated by anything other than a stereotype."

They were very good but what they didn't do was clean the windows before they left. The previous group that installed my other windows did clean the windows. It was a minor issue.

Estimate was right on . work was done well. One minor problem with two window screens will be fixed in two weeks. Time between estimate and completion of job known ahead of time however there is a lag time of 1 to 2 months from order to completion due to volume of workorigonal estimite wqs
