Affordable Heating & Air Conditioning

The first mistake was in their measuring and I ended up with too big of an insert. (This was almost eight years ago, and I let it go, although unhappy.) Because of the size miscalculation, installation took much longer. Come dark, the work quality seemed to change. In the end I was told nothing was getting in my chimney and they did not install an actual chimney cap. The resulting problem of 2018... This spring, a bird made it all the way down to my unit, alive. Affordable wouldn’t take care of anything except to say I could book a cleaning for inside the insert, which wasn’t the problem. Luckily I found a company that would help. Upon removing the insert, they found debris accumulated in the liner, and multiple dead birds. (The new bird had died, and there were apparently others prior.) This hazard had been ongoing for years, unbeknownst to me! Affordable said I should have called sooner?! Communication was drawn out for months, so it’s now October and I finally know Dave is not accepting any responsibility in my $891 repair bill that stated: *intake liner not to top of flue *open hole in top plate *no animal protection present *birds have entered into flue area, old smoke chamber, and have nested *unit must be removed and cleaned *new liners and termination cap required for safe, efficient venting. Needless to say I am very disappointed in my company choice and certainly do not recommend Affordable Heating.

I would use them again.

It was a big job because I have baseboard feeding.

I like them a lot.

Owner, office, and installer were all Helpful, polite, knowledgeable, on-time, receptive to, and patient with, all questions prior to, during, and after installation. Work was done in an efficient, tidy, quiet manner. No problems at all. Will definitely return to Affordable for any future products or services needed.

Dave came with in a couple of days of our call. He was the Best and so very professional and the owner of the company!!! He gave the Best price and set a date in a week and they came at 830 am and were finished at 2 pm . Everything went as promised. They were excellent and we will have them for all future heating and air calls.

Within 2 days of my phone call, Dave came to my newly purchased home and gave me the estimate, and also found a couple problems my home inspector had missed. My technician, Fred, installed a new furnace and central air about 2 weeks later. He was very professional and informative. The job was very well done, quick, neat, and with a thorough clean up afterward. I will be using Affordable for all my heating and cooling needs. They are a joy to deal with and everything is just as they say it will be.

What I really liked is that the originally cause of what went wrong took a part that cost $300. They said that wasn't' the part so they turned off the gas because it was a safety issue and then looked for the right part to replace. They didn't do like other places would do and said that didn't fix it but it's still wrong. They are very ethical.

They always do a wonderful job and service our furnace and air conditioner. They are very prompt and professional. They are perfect in installation and are very neat and courteous. Our old water heater was still under warranty so it only cost us about $100 for the new water heater. I will use them again in the future.

Jeff arrived on time and began his work throughout the day. Came back next morning to finish the job and do the cleanup. Very professional and did a fine job. The company was a pleasure to deal with.

It went awful, My AC at this point does not work, they are going to charge me two service fees, 1 for the warranty work and 1 to come back and clean the unit. I was warned when I bought the unit from them that it would prove to be a mistake. I guess their competition was right all along.

The first half of this transaction went relatively well. The company's rep on the phone was professial and courteous, made good recommendations for the unit to be installed, and worked well with my tenant living in the unit. The installation of the unit also went well. The service I received from Affordable completely deteriorated after that however. I mentioned that there was a thermostat replaced as well, that was a result of the heating ceasing to work two weeks after it was installed. The tenant described the situation, and it seemed like the thermostat was the culprit, however, I naturally called Affordable to take a look because they claimed that their work was guaranteed for a year. I asked them to see if anything they installed was broken, or if the problem was elsewhere. They called me later that day to say it was just the thermostat, the guy just replaced it while he was there. I said "great, do I owe you anything for the thermostat?" The rep on the phone said, "I'm not sure, I'll see what the technician says when he gets back". About 2 weeks later, I received a bill for $213 in the mail, which included a $50 'diagnostic fee'! The only reason I called them was that their work was guaranteed. One more note, I still have not recieved the warrantee or owner's manual for the heater. I've asked them multiple times, every time they say they're going to send it, but it never shows up. Funny how the bills always manage to find their way to my mailbox.
