HADLEY'S LLC LANDSCAPE AND SNOW SERVICES

We were pretty happy with Hadleys in the early days, and that changed as the company got bigger. I didn't come to Angie's list today to leave a review on Hadleys, but based on our address Angie's list solicited a review, and I have used the company, so I thought I would provide my thoughts.
Hadley's moved their office into our neighborhood several years ago. We contracted them to cut our grass and initially they did a great job and at a great price. A year or so into our relationship they increased their mowing cost by 15%, and although I wasn't happy, I decided to continue on with them. Then last year they increased their rates by another 67%. Their new mowing rate was effectively double what we started at with them. They did a good job cutting the grass, but it wasn't worth the huge premium they were charging, so we ultimately dropped them and went with a competitor. Overall I would give the quality of their mowing an and quot;Aand quot; and their rates a and quot;Cand quot;.
A few years ago we contracted Hadleys to plant 10 trees in our yard. They drew up a plan and we agreed on a price. When I came home that afternoon, half of the trees had been planted - but in the wrong spot. They were in the correct general area, but the workers definitely did not follow the plans that were drawn up. They apologized, and I agreed to keep the 5 trees where they were, and they placed the remaining 5 trees correctly.
My biggest issue with that project was the trees themselves. 3-4 of them were and quot;bentand quot; and growing at an angle. I complained and Mr. Hadley came out to the house to look at the trees, and he said that it was natural, because they grow the trees on a side of a hill to save space, and that once they are planted in our yard the trees will eventually and quot;straighten outand quot;. Here we are a few years later, and while some of the trees have moved closer to being straight, the trunks on some of them are still bent. For the planting services I would give them a and quot;Cand quot;, with the quality being a and quot;Dand quot;.
Our last encounter with Hadleys was the and quot;master planand quot;. We spent about an hour in the office with the owner and he showed us all of these various ideas he had that could be used in our yard. He said that he was going to draw up an elaborate and quot;master planand quot; that we could implement in phases over the next few years. He had us very excited in his office for the work they could do, and then we never heard from them again. No and quot;master planand quot; was ever presented.
Although these strikes were enough for us to take our mowing/planting/and landscaping business needs to competitors, we were happy with their mowing service, and their lawn treatment service, and we have seen photos of large jobs they have done that have gone quite well. Perhaps we were too small of a customer to get better service. If you have a very large job, you may want to give them a try and learn more for yourself.

Like clockwork I'd receive a call the night before the application giving me a heads up and asking if I had any questions. The next day they'd show up and get the job done within 30 minutes. The cost is hard to argue with since I'd pay $35-40 if buying the product and then have to remember to do it when I was suppose to, and then actually do it. I plan on continuing with them next year.

The work went well. The crew was very good to work with, helpful and considerate. The final result was beautiful, and we are glad we selected Steve Hadley to do this work.

The result is exactly what I planned: excellent drainage and handsome appearance.

Very unsatisfactory. Original design fairly decent but no follow through on service. Long delays during work left property a mess with major areas unusable for long periods of time. Sprinkler system a disaster that they would not fix. Illumination wires exposed everywhere. They quit the project and left without a walk through or any follow up to complete unfinished parts of the work. They did damage to the property and claimed they did not, refusing to pay for repairs. Any problems were said to be our fault. We had to get a more reliable contractor in to complete the work and fix many parts of the work. Some areas are still so bad that we will probably have to spend even more to fix the mess in a few years.

Extremely professional company. They are prompt, hard-working, and most importantly, do an outstanding job. I would recommend them to anyone in need of landscape design, maintenance, mowing, snow removal, etc.

I did work with them. They were fabulous. I still enjoy working with them. I would use them in the future.

They were reliable and I was very pleased with the work. They were also very kind to my grandchildren that were visiting. I was also impressed with their artistic choices and design skill.
